Will 2023 be remembered for The Remembering?

In latest Classic Album Review, the gristled gent interviews Steve about commemoratin' Topograhic's 50th anniversary next year.
Steve explains Juano is jonesin' to do side 2. That's right people. The Remembering. The oceanic swell of the album with transcendant beauty. Gotta feelin' Howe prefers to do side 1 or 4 but YES seem to be in a more adventurous space right now.

So. Gates of Delirium. Soundchaser. To be Over. The Remembering. The Ice Bridge. ....not too shabby!!!

That would be very cool, if it happens. IMHO, “The Remembering” is the most undeservedly under-appreciated track on Tales.

In the “Yes Speak” interview book, Chris singled it out as the song in which he thought he played the best. I was a bit surprised by that answer, but who am I to doubt Mr. Squire about his own playing? 🤷‍♂️ I always thought that was a track where Rick really contributed a lot as well.

Like many, the first and last Tales are my faves, but I like this one almost as much. It would be great if they start pulling out lesser-played songs for future tours.

The Remembering would be nice. It is kind of odd doing Relayer on its 49th anniversary and not doing something for Tales’ 50th. Why not do side 1 and 2 of Tales for the first half of the show and Relayer for the second?

You could even fit a couple of new songs in between the albums.

Ok, I'll say it: I mostly like the song, but I'm not convinced it's suitable for a live setting — and that's ok! Not everything has to be made for a rock and roll concert performance, after all. "The Remembering" is good for a nice long pee break during those first nine minutes or so, and maybe the last five. Sorry.

A rock and roll concert performed in front of a median age of 63 years old? Yeah. Those punks will burn the place down if you slow the tempo down and mellow out. And those punks in the crowd have a short attention span that needs constant bombardment of stimulation. 😉

That's my point — I have a hard enough time staying up past my bedtime, I'm pretty much a-coasting on fumes after seven o'clock anyways… Any break in the momentum and I'm snoring so much I'll have to charge the band for adding to the rhythm section!

I say drop Gates, It’s been done. Cconcentrate on Sound Chaser and To be Over. Leave room for some deep cuts like Survival and The Prophet. The Remembering would be awesome. Speaking of 2023, Future Times will be remembered as something they Finally do live. It’s beyond me why JD hasn’t done Yesterday and Today and Clear Days yet.

Well, it's the Relayer tour and the advertisement clearly says "all of Relayer", so they're not going to drop Gates.

Furthermore the adds says "and classic songs". Which basically means "more well known songs". So all in all I don't see The Remembering added to the setlist for this tour. Perhaps a following tour, but realistically not on the Relayer tour.

At my age I'd like them to play the Remindering because there's no way I'll remember...
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

I get that it's the Relayer tour and loyal fans of the album are looking forward to it, I think Gates of Delirium has been done enough, and they could get away without doing it, if they creatively made up for it, with even deeper cuts, which to loyal fans, many are classics. Wouldn't make much difference to a casual or passing fan. A CTTE tour without CTTE, not so much.

Remember in 2010 Alan said he wanted to in the presence of and A Venture with the then current lineup

I believe the stones wrote a song about not always getting what you want.

that being said of course I would welcome it it’s not like they will do anything for 90125’s 40th anniversary

All I can say is bring it on (and I'll believe it when I see it).

Well, the tour is advertised for Europe and UK for now. Gates has not been performed here since 2001. So no, they would not get away without performing it. Certainly not on a tour billed as "Relayer tour" and advertisements saying the whole album will be performed.

JD isn’t making the final call on what is being played.
                            Not on Yes' payroll.
