Sound Chaser

On the live performances of Sound Chaser, was Jon playing a flute or a piccolo? It looks too small, though it's hard to make out for sure on the few photos available, to be a regular flute?
I wonder if Davison is going to play one at the forthcoming shows?

Obviously a very long time ago now, but I can't remember seeing Jon play one at the 1975 Relayer shows. Was it something he started doing on the Solos tour in 76 (which didn't cross the Pond to the UK)?
I'm not sure it's not a flageolet? Pitch sounds high for a flute, which I play a bit. It's got a 3 octave span, but even so it sounds too high.

It looks and sounds like a piccolo rather than a regular concert flute, but I don't see any Bohm keys on it, so I'm guessing it's some kind of cross between a flageolet and an open-holed piccolo. Probably something Jon picked up on tour from someone. Maybe from Jamie Muir, who know ?

Remember a photo of Jon and Eddie disembarking from a plane and as Jon walked over the tarmac he was playing the damn thing. A tin whistle?
