Well I would welcome them all.

But I think it's time for Yes or Jon and whomever to play

    sweetness and Dear Father

But of the list I would love Astral Traveler / Homeworld / Children of Light again. I would love A veture again, as long as they did the extended ending. The curret band should definitely do Open your Eyes (track and or whole album) and the Ladder since Billy/ Steve were there.

Addendum : Here's a list of "semi-rare" tracks (also played live since 1997). Any of these tracks could easily show up on the "Classic Tales" tour :

      Rhythm of Love (505)
      RITUAL (346)
      Going For the One (311)
      America (283)
      HEARTS (250)
      The Gates Of Delirium (226)
      Revealing Science Of God (225)
      Don't Kill The Whale (216)
      Turn of the Century (212)
      Sweet Dreams (190)

(note: the high numbers for "Hearts" and "Rhythm of Love" reflects all the times they were played during the 80s by YesWest)

Agreed.....also I find it amazing how many tracks from "The Ladder" were attempted back on the '99 tour (a tour which I missed unfortunately). According to Forgotten Yesterdays, EIGHT tracks from that album were attempted live at least a few times.

Given that some fans think Mirror To The Stars is their best album since The Ladder (or some might say Magnification), it would be a shame if they only play the proverbial "two tracks" like they have done for other recent albums.

I feel like the time is right to bring The More We Live out. I don't think Yes have ever performed it but Billy has done it at least once with Circa and another time with Tony Kaye. I think the guys could do a great job with it.

You're makin' a lot of sense today DD.

This song is my favourite song on Union. Why? Because it's a song. I could imagine someone on The Voice or The Proms perform it. It builds slowly to a wonderful climax. Ala Nessun Dorma. No widdly, noodly bits. Pure songwritin' craft. Galveston. Walk on By. The Look of Love. Heroes.

And. Billy deserves his moment to shine vocally onstage with Juano. Plus he plays bass on the studio record. C'mon Billy. Don't take No for an Answer from Steve. ( see what I did there? )

"The More We Live". Chris Squire, Billy Sherwood.....
Billy has also played this in a solo set on the "other" Prog Cruise a few years ago (whose name escapes me)

I missed The Ladder tour too, which is too bad - I was into that album when it came out and go thru a Ladder phase once a year and listen to that whole album, like "Yep, today's Ladder Day". (Haven't had Ladder Day yet this year).

I liked how it was the 'Ladder Tour', focusing on promoting the new work, and not the 'Classic Yes/Greatest Hits Tour' and "oh yeah, ....we, um, also got a new album". with a tour program cover depicting a paintballed-lookin' Yes logo over top a splashy psychedelic-colored background instead of the existing new album art. Where any mention of a new album is demoted to the corner of the next to the last page. That was the Ladder Tour. I'd love for Yes to go back to that sorta setup. Plenty of time for classic trax too - Ladder tour did play a hefty chunk of that Ladder album, but still had room for deeper cut selections like Perpetual Change and Hearts as well as the expected hits.

Yes you are right, I saw that tour, Yes were really something integrating so many tracks form that record. Of course the length of most of the tracks were suited for that I think.

I just saw the band Kings X the other night. They have been around since the late 80's and they played a significant amount of tunes form their most recent record. Fan reactions to such an endeavor are usually mixed, some desiring the more known or appreciated material usally from their first five to seven years.

That's an interesting list; of them, I'm not interested in much from the first two albums (sorry!), and nothing from the YesWest years has much of a chance, but there are a couple of gems in there, for sure:

Onward (a great song, a tribute to Chris, and from a vastly underrepresented album)
Nine Voices (originally features both Steve and Billy, and done fairly credibly on the 50th tour)
White Car (also originally features two current members, and done quite well more recently)
Madrigal (Jon D handled this little beauty very nicely)
Into the Storm (unlikely, but one can hope)

And I too yearn for the days when a band would actively promote a new album by actually playing it; The Ladder has stood up well, and it seemed like the group really stood behind it at the time. I think they feel the same about MttS, and they should, so why not play three or four or five songs from it? I wish I felt that was likely…

Good catch Arno, my Bad, DTK was on my list I just missed it somehow....I edited the original post DTK comes in just below "The Game" because they played it 41 times according to FY.

(Sad) Side note....since starting this thread and contemplating the possibility of them playing any YesWest tunes, I realized....there are now NO MEMBERS left from YesWest !! 😞

Even sadder there is only one member in the band from the Classic and YesWest eras combined and inducted into the RRHOF for what it's worth.
                            Not on Yes' payroll.
