  • Yes members who have worked with the Beatles

Given the Beatles are not only rock's most legendary band, but a massive influence on Yes, it got me wondering which Yes members have worked with Beatles.

Obviously Alan was a member of Lennon's Plastic Ono Band and played on George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass". The only other collaboration I know of was when Trevor Horn produced "Figure of Eight" on McCartney's "Flowers in the Dirt" album in 1989.

Are there any others that people are aware of?

Great question. We know that Yes music probably wouldn’t exist without the Fab Four. But how much of a direct connection has there been?

I disagree totally. There are so many great musicians who would have got together and formed Prog bands even if The Beatles had not existed.

Prog owes so much more to classical and jazz music rather than immature and over-hyped pop.

And I have just realised that Alan White has also worked with Ringo Starr - both played on the George Harrison song "My Sweet Lord".

          A3 Ham 'N Eggs

          Not on Yes' payroll.

That's cool. No matter who he plays with and in what genre, Banks will always sound like Banks. I love it!

I always thought of prog as the matured version of pop.
