    Mind Drive, all day long.
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Mind Drive has its moments but Machine Messiah is a barnstormer of a tune, not even close this one for me.

Yep. MM for me. Is my go to , to bebop-scat on the way up to the high street. Rolling rythms, spiky guitar, weird AF vocals.

Machine Messiah, no contest, kind of a step into what later developed even into prog-metal.

Machine Messiah for me, as well. It seeps joyfully around in my head.

I love both, but Machine Messiah is my preference.

Never cared for Mind Drive, this one was easy.

You know how Rick said OOALH was the Roundabout of the 80s? I could of MD as the MM of the 90s - then I don’t have to choose one over the other

I too prefer MM, though MD has good stuff in there.
You’re comment about prog-metal is interesting. At first I was really ticked off by the opening of MM. My first association was Black Sabbath! (And that’s not good in my book...) The riff sounded just a little too straight forward for me. Then I quickly realized how great the rest of the track is, and got over my reservations.

Had read Chris Welch's MM review so knew what to expect once I had Drama spinnin' on the ol' sanyo turntable. Still was a wonderful surprise to hear Steve's Metallish opening but then the track becomes so nimble, skippin' across the landscape. Glad the opening track had no techno-pop ala the Buggles. Crisis averted and meaty prog triumphant.
