Billy is looking nice and healthy. I like these little teasers (Not sure Billy does as he seems a little downbeat). This track has really grown on me over the weeks.

He looks as if he's trying to remember all the things he's been told to say!

He needs to stand up for himself and tell Steve that he, Billy, has graduated from employee mentality. Heck, Billy and Jon just penned the best Yes tune I’ve heard in years. Take note, Mr. Howe.

I think he’s trying to remember all the things he’s been told not to say.

Something that has bedevilled Yes since they reconvened in the autumn of 1985 is how to deal with two entirely different traditions. Think Open Your Eyes and Keys 2 coming out within a week of each other!!

With Fly From Here they cleverly avoided the issue and followed up Drama but the last three projects, whether you like them or not, have hinted at something of its own. With this single I can see echoes of "the Yes way of doing things" but I really sense the dichotomy of shall we do 70's or 80's may finally be behind them. Whether what comes stands on its own merits we shall see but I really think we are in a post 70/80's place.. at last.

Most of my working days are like that....
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

I meant all the things he's been told to say by the publicist/management/label. Make sure you say who you are, what the new single is, what the new album is called, etc. Instructions that will, I would imagine, go to all band members.

Sometimes humor with a sense of ribbing gets lost in translation through words. Although I do maintain that the younger guys in Yes do have an employee/boss relationship with Howe.
