Meaning of the cover art - Mirror to the Sky

I’m not sure if someone has already brought this up, so forgive me if it’s repeating old history. When you take in Roger Dean’s cover art for Mirror to the Sky do you take it in from the perspective that what we’re seeing is a person looking out over a vast body of water that is reflecting the immensity of the heavens above? That the water below is the “mirror to the sky”.

Interesting, seems to be just that.. The immensity of reflecting on the two vast bodies is compounded.

And that that seeming streak in the sky is actually the horizon, with the actual sky reflected above it?

Was wondering what that was. Would have been nice it the title and logo were discreet at the bottom somewhere. But definitely one of my favorites from Rogers more recents.

It’s clever and it can definitely be taken in from a number of different perspectives. I hope the art reflects a good harbinger of what is to come in terms of the music. Roger use to listen to impending Yes music as inspiration for the covers he created. I wonder if that was the case with MttS.
