WTF? This is not the news I was expecting to hear today. First thought it's total BS that they are postponing these shows rather than cancelling them and sending back people's money. We've had enough of that sort of crap over the past three years it's time to stop that practice and get back to doing the right thing. Second thought is troubles of these sorts and the super thin margins bands like Yes operate under these days are exactly what Robert Fripp and David Singleton were talking about when they said they were worried King Crimson could literally go bankrupt on their last US tour if trouble struck that caused shows to be skipped, and why KC did not tour in Europe at all.

It will be very interesting to see where Yes goes next. Will we really get a US Relayer tour and if one is announced do they really expect people to plunk down their cash after this (especially for VIP or travel)?

The models used by the insurance companies can be pretty complex, and new potential scenarios are often introduced into the actuaries' models in times of war and economic downturns. The models include a number of random variables, but rumor has it that song tempo on stage is factored in when evaluating rock bands for tour insurance.

If they are able to put together a US tour this year it will YESsongs or Tales 50+ new music. Relayer 50 will happen in 2024.

We will see. At some point their base fans which now consist of geezers on social security are going to be shuffling around with Walkers. We may be at that point.

I have also like a few others here not sure if this band can pull off playing a respectable Relayer.

I expect they will still be able to tour America this year.

My understanding is the delay from 2022 to 2023 was also related to insurance. The band had to assume a much larger financial risk than normal because insurance companies didn’t want to be on the hook if any shows had to be cancelled. That’s why they only played in the UK and Ireland. I suppose the could have done another UK only tour, but I suppose now they can bill it as a “50th anniversary tour” of the album…

I’m tellin’ you, the insurance company heard a rehearsal of Sound Chaser and Yes wasn’t up to speed. They’re worried about audience members heckling Steve and a brouhaha breaking out.😉

BTW to the naysayers the tour was near sold out. The band just could not take the financial risk without insurance. If something happened and it had to be canceled all expenses would have to be covered by the band. It could bankrupt them.

I may be wrong but I believe we will not see a USA Relayer tour and I believe that you will not see a 2024 European tour.

Why could they not get insurance for dates in the UK? Nothing to do with Covid or any war.

If this rendition of Yes wants to play Relayer maybe they hire out Moraz and he can play hidden under the stage while Downes pretends to play it and behind Moraz under the stage they can have the Geeks

I would absolutely love it if Jon and the Geeks put Sound Chaser in their set. I think it would be blistering.
