Anyone else seen the first episode of Daisy Jones and the Six? The band arrives in L.A. and this is what they see...

Cool. Elvis Presley's granddaughter reportedly steps it up in title role. Sad time as this is bein' released after her mum's death.

    Will checkout the songs.

Wasn't that a real double bill? If so, the writers made an effort to be as accurate as possible.

How's the first episode, by the way, any good?

Yeah that was really cool to see.

I'm enjoying the show so far (I've watched the first two episodes), although I can see how they had to compress things versus the book (I bought the audiobook version back when it was first released and thoroughly enjoyed it, also features a full cast but of course not the same people as are in the TV show). I think Sam and Riley in their respective roles have so much charisma and (soon to be revealed) chemistry. I've listened to the Aurora album as well and liked it for the most part, my favorite song is the title track, very Fleetwood Mac-ish without being too derivative.

Yep, over several nights in November 1971.

Haven't seen the show yet. From the picture, I initially wondered if it was set in some sort of alternate universe or multiverse where Yes had been broken up for ten years, and this marquee was advertising a showing of a documentary covering where the principle performers wound up and how their fans were taking the breakup a decade later, or the billing for a big reunion concert.

My next thought was "Maybe this was some old show they set in the future and made figuring it was a safe bet that Yes would be gone by the time reality caught to the show, and they were wrong.".

It was only my third belated thought, after reading through the thread and people basically stating it, that "10 Years After" was the name of a separate band.

"A lot of the heavier conversations I was having with Chris toward the end were about his desire for this thing to go forward. He kept reiterating that to me. [...] He kept telling me, 'No matter what happens, Yes needs to continue moving forward and make great music. So promise me that that's something you want to do.'. And I have to keep making music. It's just what I do. [...] I'm a fan of the band and I want to see it thrive and that means new music." -Billy Sherwood

            That can happen.

For 3 years, bein' a Guardianista, I assumed Cruella Braverman was her name. Seriously. All the opinion writers called her that. Without exception.

Was mightily embarrassed when the penny dropped.

I blame the Guardian opinion writers. 😂
