“I grew up playing along to Yes records and I am proud to have worked so closely with my musical hero and great friend Alan White these past few years. I will strive to honour his memory as we drive towards the future with the band.”
Alan couldn't have planned a better 'hand-off'. This one went a bit smoother than the previous one, with Chris handing it off to Billy.👍 1Comment

I would guess this also confirms that the drumming on the new album is still all Alan, with some Jay percussion at most.

If this is official, then I'm glad. Jay Schellen does Alan proud, he has that Alan White-type drumming style that fits Yes perfectly. It's cool that Yes has hired him to be an official contributing member rather than being considered a separate session musician or given the Moody Blues Patrick Moraz treatment. Go Jay! Bring on the next Yes album.👍 4Comment

Squire and White are dead, Bruford is retired and Kaye is doing his own thing,
Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman are regarded as the enemy,

I'm thinking the article mentioned above is the official announcement because it has Steve's quote. Wikipedia pages are updated using it as a reference. YesWorld is always behind on these sorts of things but I'm guessing we'll see something there sooner than later (maybe when they finally announce US dates?).👍 1Comment
