    A 80's YES Flashback Interview

    Check this out

Technical excess brought them success in the 70s, Trevor Horn rejuvenated them in the '80s, now they're working towards the '90s. Deborah Parisi asks the Yes men if there's anything left to say after 20 years.

This interview (along with others) helped me to realize just how cutting edge the band was during the 80s in the studio and live.
Kaye was one of the first keyboardists to champion master keyboard controllers over massive keyboard rigs. He was doing his thing
pre vst instruments and laptops Also the the band was incorporated early sampling. A good read in deed.

very cool to hear about, especially Tony Kaye's experiences with keyboard technology, we all know he preferred the hammond but the synclavier side is interesting.

All three articles are fun to read. I miss the '80s.

Yeah this is a really interesting article, I'm grateful that it's been available online for years now. I particularly appreciate how it illustrates Trevor's perspective of really paying attention to burgeoning technology.

""I've been spending a lot of time programming a Dynacord ADD-one with a guy named Reek Havok", White explains."

This cracked me up - what a name! Great article and thanks for sharing it TerryTT.

Reek Havok had a long history with Alan (and Yes), from the moving drums on the 2004 tour back to MIDI triggers on acoustic drums (the gear mentioned above on the BG tour) and IIRC the pitch shift guitar pedal heard on Drama (at least the ending of Tempus Fugit, and throughout Go Thru This).
