I s there a lost album you would want to see released similar to From a Page?

Yes has quite a few lost albums under there belt . by my count there are 5 confirmed ones and 3 maybe ones and 1 well you will see

Paris Sessions Not everything here was released on the expanded and remastered series an plus its a final classic 70's yes album
Townhouse Sessions: now for Anderson Wakeman fans fear not the Town house sesions really just need leadvocals and keyboards so in theory Atlantic record could hire Anderson and Wakeman to finish songs like Crossfire Telephone Secrets Sattelite and Go trhough this... f course I would prefer Downes and Jon Davison as Horn doesn't need a third album as lead vocalist
1982 sessions: songs like Make it Easy It's over Open the door etc
Say Goodbye: Lost album with Billy Sherwood on lead vocals
Royal Family: lost album with Roger Hodgson on lead vocals\

    the 3 maybes welll...

There was a rumored version of Fly From Here with Jon Davison on lead vocals circa 2017
There was a rumored album in 2008 with Jack Douglas as producer
Davison I believe said they had 2albums worth of material from Heaven & Earth

And I dont want to forget to mention

there was a lot of things written and possibly recorded from 95-21 that never got released Axis of Love Telephone Secrets from the keys 2 sessions etc

So is there an album you hope sees the light of day similar to From a Page or are these better left in the dark?

I think you listed the Hodgson album twice, not sure if you're gaming the vote or splitting itโ€ฆ

I don't know, artists record a lot of stuff, some of which makes it to an album, and some of it, well, doesn'tโ€ฆ Rush has said there's nothing, absolutely nothing, on the cutting room floor: if they had an idea worth recording, they worked it.

I'm totally a sucker for this "archives and everything!" stuff, so sure, although in this case I'd have quite low expectations. While I do quite like K2A, for instance, little on K2A2 grabs me, so anything not deemed good enough for that album wouldn't likely be more than a spin or two. But then of course the flip sides: All Fighters Past was quite a treat, and From a Page was a gem, while nothing that's come from the Paris sessions or the leftover Tormato tracks or what have you has done much for me. Ideally a box set, but of course the rights for this range of work are pretty much impossible, not to mention financially dodgy at best, so would it be worth it for anyone to do anything with whatever tapes are floating around? (I have no information, of course, but I do wonder about the financials behind these extravagant things like the Union Live mammoth set, or even Rabin's Changes box set โ€” are these things really viable? I guess, but even a digital-only release is gonna cost something to acquire and clean up some audio and through a cover onโ€ฆ)

The two real exceptions to this, for me, have been Tull and Springsteen, whose archives continue to reveal gem after gem, but those are both cases of a singular songwriter with a generally very good and consistent backing band just recording and recording and recording to sometimes find the album hidden away in the songs. I haven't heard from a lot of "band" bands that have super great archives of unreleased material.

TL;DR: of course I'd buy it, what kind of sucker am I for posting on a fan site?

From A Page, the one with Oliver, is the best new material they'd released in a long time, and though it's not a full album's worth, I rate it more highly that either H&E and FFH.

I'd have loved to have heard an entire album of THAT.

Most of it has come out officially one way or the other, and it lives up... or rather down... to its reputation. Near the bottom of my wishlist.

A lot of this has been officially released or come out in some form. I think the XYZ material is more promising. Does Page have something more than the boots we've heard?

This seems to me the obvious untapped mine of material. There's the material Cinema worked on before starting to record... then there's the Anderson-less version of 90125, which doesn't appear to have used all the Cinema material. So much potential.

Well, Sherwood and Rabin sharing lead vocals, I think. Some of this has emerged. I'm not certain it would offer as many surprises as some of the other options.

Since the XYZ material appeared, I see this as the Holy Grail of the archives.

No, there wasn't. The idea of Davison singing was mooted. There was no indication anything happened.

He said they had 2 albums' worth for Fly from Here and we got, more or less, 2 albums eventually. Did he say that about H&E too? There's at least a couple of lost songs and they would be interesting.

The other "lost" album is ABWH 2. This transmogrified into most of Union, but there are hints of alternative recordings we've never heard.

To answer the original question without voting. I would say no and leave the lot of it to the demos we have in various forms.

I would rather see that Early set of tunes released in a big box set. Especially if there are any bbc or radio we have t heard yet. AND With a good compilation of all the early video and tv clips and stuff that is all over the place in official, boot, and forgotten yesterdayโ€™s......

I would really like to get all the stuff Yes-West did after the Big Generator tour till Union, so from the end of 88 to the end of 90 presumably. The recordings with Billy on lead-vocals and the collaboration of Trevoer and Roger Hodgson on one album or separeted.

I also could imagine two official packages, one with all unreleased music around Rabin from 82 till 90 (Time???), the other one with the Paris-Sessions combined with the unreleased ABWH-material.

Some of the rights are straightforward. Everything Yes did from first signing up to the YesWest+Sherwood pre-Union plans belongs to Atlantic and thus now Warner. They can do whatever they want. Whether they possess physical copies of recordings is another issue, of course.

There is a complication around work by Cinema before they signed to Atlantic. That material (I assume) doesn't belong to Atlantic/Warner. Presumably it belongs to Rabin, White, Kaye and Scotty Squire?

Post-Atlantic material gets more complicated, but presumably not too complicated. The Royal Family tapes, who knows who owns them? But presumably it's the same answer for all of them. You don't have to negotiate around every track.

These releases are going to be a lot cheaper than recording a new album, I would've thought. With Union Live, Larry Magid owned all the rights and he was involved with the release, so that's straightforward. What cut he took, I don't know! (Technically, I think whoever recorded each boot also has rights in that they made the recording. I presume RRAW just ignored this.)

Given most of what they did for Union Live was download bootlegs from online and stick them on discs (badly), I don't think there was much expense! Something like the King Crimson archival releases where they took some care over the material would cost more. But cleaning up audio is still a lot cheaper than recording new audio.

It is more complicated when you compile a set from multiple sources, multiple rights-holders. I don't what had to be done with Rabin's boxset. Then again, given the usual quality standards of Rob Ayling, I doubt much was spent on doing things properly.

Well, you have kind of heard the rest of that album. It's "The Man You Always Wanted Me to Be", "Hour of Need" and "Into the Storm".

"Second Initial" has nothing in particular to do with this material.
