Lizzo—teaching girls that preparing your body for strokes, heart disease, diabetes, and exhaustion is not necessarily that bad!

The Yes riff is played very well and the only cool part about it. Everything that came after it was garbage. I really don't like, appreciate, or enjoy rappers pooping all over classic epic songs such as HOTS, Kashmir, and Every Breath You Take. Sorry...

But as Henry said, hopefully it will lead some kids to the amazing world of Yes music!

So weird to compare some of the Yestribute bands live versions to recent Yes performances... such a tangible difference in interpretation. Most of those bands seem to approach the material the way Yes did long ago, giving the songs a bit of extra speed and fury to get them across, while current Yes takes the 'album version' approach. I wasn't a big AWR fan, but at least they played with some 'live' passion.
"Dirge"-like has been a term to describe some of the tempos of 21st century Yes performances.

Yeah I mean HoTS was pretty speedy when ARW played it.

Discovered her when she was on Saturday Night Live last year. I really like her song "About damn time" because it has the same kind of groove as 70's funk/disco like Chic. The fact that her band plays a bit of "Heart of the Sunrise" is very cool, I think.

If it leads a few people to Yes, all's good. Anderson and Squire's widow make some money anyway.
Hahahaaaaa, yes I think I am ! Once you hit 50, everything sucks.... lol

Well for one, I can't stand rap music. I wouldn't call Rizzo's interpretation of HOTS even in the same galaxy as Yes' interpretation of America. Yes made it better, Rizzo made it worse. But on the positive, I am all for a bunch of rappers getting exposed to that amazing intro riff! And that's cool Jon and Scotty are making some dough. My bud's in The Fixx were not thrilled that their song Saved By Zero was being used in a Capitol One commercial, but they did make quite a bit off it. And you are right, if it led more people to The Fixx or Yes , that's cool....

Now this I have to go watch on YouTube, the mind boggles at how such a Chic-esque song could be revamped in that particularly glitchy way, lol.
