    Should Marillion's Misplaced Childhood be rebranded as a Yes album?

    Crazier things have been proposed, but hear me out:

    - Misplaced Childhood was released in 1985, between 90125 and Big Generator, so the timing works out as a "lost" Yes album;
    - It features a well-known and established logo and artwork style (with a gravity-defying window, not unlike a rock, to boot!);
    - It has ten songs, just like Magnification;
    - Mark Kelly has said Yes was always his favourite band;
    - It has just as many original Yes members as The Quest;
    - It mentions children quite a lot, even if it doesn't quite describe their eyes or the world through them;
    - It was produced by Chris Kimsey, well known for his work on ABWH;
    - A pseudo silk kimono sounds very much like something Chris Squire would have worn…

    I think a compelling case could be made — slap a new cover on it, and why not? Even die-hard fans would have a hard time telling Fish and Jon Anderson apart, really.

    You mischievous scamp!
    Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
    Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

            That's It. I'm buying 1000 Yes bubble logo stickers and rebranding my whole record collection as Yes albums. Lil' Wayne's Tha Carter 2? Sorry Weezy, it's a Yes album now. Blood on The Tracks? Sorry Bob, Yes is gonna have to go ahead and take that from you.

              THE HOSTILE TAKEOVER 2022

              Is how musicologists will remember this time.

              Future archeologists will find fossilized guitars
              from dinosaur bands. They will be in awe that these few men left so many great albums behind. How 5 men could create such wonder.

              Aliens will consider these men Gods.
              On the Planet Zongo especially. My goodness, has that been Jon's plan all along? 😉

                Could Squackett be rebranded as a GTR album? I'm sure it could garner extra sales on Planet Zongo.

                    Heeheee. Poor Yaz. Always put YES albums in front of them and Yazoo in the shelves at vinyl record stores.

                      Marillion? YES? Hmmm? Dunno?

                      But Steve Hogarth recently sang OOALH with the Trevor Horn Band at the Cropredy Festival.

                        Well, you're definitely making a very compelling case. However since it's a concept album and leadsinger Fish started out as Peter Gabriel wannabe and at the end of his time with Genesis, Gabriel was big on concept albums, I see "Misplaced Childhood" as the perfect follow-up to "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" and so suggest it should be rebranded as a Genesis album. Then Steve Hackett could tour it as a next Genesis Revisited tour, after the upcoming "Foxtrot" tour.

                            I remember walking into a record shop when Clutching At Straws just came out and they were playing it in there and I thought "What's this?! I thought I had all the Genesis albums..."

                            Should all the Tony Banks solo albums be rebranded as Genesis albums? He's the one guy you could almost do that with. I say 'almost'. Nothing should really be rebranded for real of course. Unless...
