2003. Sydney. Full Circle tour. Played SSotS with an extended jam between Rick and Steve. What was funny was to watch Jon and Chris, side by side, swayin' to the beat like teenagers. One sec lookin'at Rick next sec lookin'at Steve. Big smiles.

    Mind Drive wasn't played.

South Side of the Sky became a set fixture from July 17, 2002 in Seattle, and stayed there throughout the Full Circle Tour in 2003 and 35th Anniversary tour in 2004.
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

That is a moot point because Downes cannot play it like Wakeman. Wakeman bats 325 with 40 Homer's and 117 RBIs on average for his entire career.

Downes is in the minor leagues

Yes. Always 1 of my favorite songs. They only brought it back when Wakeman returned if my recollection is correct. It was not played during the Igor years.

I think Moraz played it once or twice.

I had no idea that you were so personally close to Geoff Downes that you can say this with absolute certainty.

Wow, I had no idea the number was that high. It also kind of illustrates how busy the band has been in the last 20 years. They played the track a fair few times from 2008 on as well, but it has not been in every set or anything. Workaholics, these boys.

Maybe they should haven’t opened with this song if three people were going to be “twiddling their thumbs” for three minutes if played in full, but there is definitely some guitar and keyboards intermixed with the drums and bass. The next three songs have been used as openers so there was definitely room to alter the order of the first 4 songs and play them all in full.

Having Just heard their set from the Royal Albert Hall, downloaded from Dime - many thanks to the taper - it was a bit disconcerting hearing their revamp of OTSWOF, especially as that's a favourite of mine, but at the smae time it was nice to hear some of it played again. Maybe they should have started off with The Ice Bridge? Maybe they should do another medley to rival the fantastic 10th anniversary medly i 78/79, and include it in that (how about a Tormato songs medley?)? And if Geoff doesnt play things exactly as Rick did, all I can say is atthe end ofthe day, so what. And if Steve isnt playing how he did 50 years ago - are any of us really ableto do some of the things we used to do when we were younger, but have many of us discovered new and sometimes better ways to do things as we get older?
Yes are what they are, we all have a choice to either stick with them or not. If we dont like what or how they do things anymore we can always stop listening and switch off.

They're adding stuff beyond what was on Remy's site, so I presume this recording will end up there in due course.

Great news for me since I can’t do torrents anymore. My only computer is a work computer, so I can’t risk that.
