    Your favourite Yes logo?

There are many to choose from over the years, whether they be Roger Dean designed or not.

Its a difficult choice, but I think for me it may be the silver metallic Drama logo and also the Ladder logo.

The original logo was actually a pretty good one, very pop art. But then Dean came along and the rest is no mystery.
Hipgnosis were wise enough not to temper with it.

Silver original Close to the Edge and blue original Tales ones.
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

I've always liked the silver logo on Drama best

The chrome/metallic Drama/Classic Yes logo is a favorite. Kinda dated though in an airbrushed, travelling carnival type of way. Hit the duck with the water rifle, win one of those blacklight posters or a giant stuffed unicorn, that sort of thing. I can picture that Drama Yes logo airbrushed on the side of one of those carny rides. I'm sure there's a roller coaster out there somewhere called 'the Panther'. I can almost picture that Drama Yes logo used for some sort of Frank Franzetta Conan images. So, kinda dated late 70's/1980 look but I still love it. They never used it beyond the 80-81 period, so it never got overused - unlike the tie dyed/color-splattered psychedelic look they used a lot later on when they got more retrospective.

The Yesyears/Ladder logo with the three slits for an 'e', that was cool. I liked the Yesyears box set how it included the 90125 oval thing with the triangle in the middle - but stylized to look like it's made of stone and part of the ancient graphics of the rest of the landscape. Interesting thing there, where Roger Dean 'Dean-ified' some imagery from an album he wasn't involved in. The 90125 cover remade Dean. You don't see that everyday.

The zigzagged, 'dazzle ship' Heaven Earth logo I thought was very cool, anyone else like that one? They used that a bit during that 2014-16 era with the Like It Is live albums.

The green CTTE logo (the first album with that logo) - simple and effective.

I didn't mind the cartoon bubble logo on the UK version of the first album.

I didn't mind the Peter Max Talk logo - easy to draw with a sharpie marker. I used to have a Talk tour hat with that logo on it, sadly lost.

Fragile logo is cool enough but not quite there, like the 'abridged' version of what would be perfected later.

Lots of other great variations of the Dean logo: Relayer, even the Union logo - that looks like an updated Drama logo. Cool stuff.

Yah, the version on Yesyears is quite nice, shame it didn't last… But of the CTTE versions that have showed up over the years, I'm partial to Union (c'mon, how exciting was it to see *that logo* again, on a new album?), Keys 2 (the blue/red/green just pops), Tsongas (that patterns been used before/since, but this colour combo works best for me), and FFH (the scales suggesting something that swims or crawls, maybe more than something that flies). Such a versatile logo, to be coloured and textured as it is, in so many combinations. Not too many others come close to it: the Fish-era Marillion logo was too intricate for anything but two colours, Iron Maiden has almost always been red and yellow, I think.

The Peter Max one was good, but a) abandoned, and b) spoiled by the signature. (Speaking of: https://www.rollingstone.com/culture...pears-1364553/ )

I quite like the Mouat designs from 83-88 or so, I thought it worked really well across all the singles and albums to give YesWest a strong visual look. But that's not really a "logo" as such.

(Speaking of: https://www.loudersound.com/features...tory-yes-90125 My years in design agencies can certainly make me sympathize with this:

"Eventually we had a meeting in Chris Squire’s flat in Chelsea, where all the band members gradually turned up, all apart from Chris who was in the bathroom for about an hour. He was actually late for a meeting in his own flat! Jon Anderson had an idea that he had put together for the sleeve, which was basically a drawing of a scroll. It was like something that you may have done at school.

I remember saying ‘I like where you’re coming from, but how about another idea’, with the band looking out of the windows, avoiding eye contact and leaving me to pay lip-service to Jon! So we eventually came up with something that everyone was happy with.”
            )

in unrelated news, my son bought me some rock t-shirts as they were 1/2 price when he bought some basketball gear. Stones and Greenday. Oh well. I had to say YES tees next time, mate. 😆

The basic Yes logo with strong colours please. None of the pattern ones thank you very much,

Classic Dean blue/white fade with red outline.

                  Square Dean from the boxset.

                    MY FAVORITE LOGO BY YES...

Without overthinking it, my thought just drifted to how much I loved the green "bubble" YES Roger Dean logo on the back (w/tour dates) of the 2016 TOPOGRAPHIC DRAMA shirt I picked up at the Mountain Winery show near SF.

I've seen the bloody YES logo 150 different ways by now, I'm sure LOL - but something about the color (bright, eye-popping Nickelodeon slime green) that absolutely grabbed me... and it's still somehow my favorite YES concert tour shirt. I loved the music, loved the occasion (my 25th anniversary night. Romantic dinner over the Bay, AND a YES show w/my wife!)... got the T-shirt.

For "ME", it just captured the life essence of YES in a single graphic. Love it!

That’s pretty spiff! I’d rank that right up there, for sure.
