It Could've been a Yes Song...

Did you ever listen to a song from another band and thought, 'Oh this could've been a Yes song...'

Like this one was for me... TFK - End On A High Note https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAQDanL0IOY

the living tree was a massive disappointment to me, still saw them in 2010 though, even shook Rick's hand and asked him about the upcoming ARW which was rumoured at the time, he said it was going to happen, and was hoping for an album to be made.

Playground by XTC. It sounds like a BigGen outtake to me...

There's plenty on Anderson's excellent Animation album that could have been taken on board by Yes. But Pressure Point is probably the most obvious candidate. It's not hard to imagine some crunchy, loping Squire bass, with cascading, angular Howe guitar lines, and White handling the compound, staggered but still swinging rhythms.

Unlearning is also a candidate. Definitely can see a Yes vibe there.

I don't hear a lot like Yes outside the band members own stuff, but of that Steve's "The Grand Scheme Of Things" stands out as a Yes track in waiting.
