Almost Like Love. This must be the Yes song with most beats per minute. And if nothing else it'll make a good portion of Yes fans run (away).....😉👍 2Comment

Not really the most physically inclined band, are they? Then again, I'm not physically inclined myself so that probably taints my judgement. Two songs which never fail to get me pumping, in a mental sense, are weirdly enough Make It Easy and the live version of Cinema (full with the ambient intro). There was a definite adrenaline to the material recorded by Cinema, which is another reason why I would love to see an extensive release of everything they recorded.Comment

I find that playing “Step Beyond” or “Living in a World of Our Own” from H&E or Teakbois from ABWH do the trick. I tell myself I have to run a certain distance or else I have to keep listening to them on a loop, so I run faster so I can change the song.Comment

Depends on the kind of work-out. I can't use ear-buds so it has to be headphones. I sometimes have music on while I'm doing cardio stuff, cross-trainer, cycle, rower, etc, and that could well be a Yes album, or part of one. I don't like exercise classes, I'm very much a solitary gym-bunny. Once I've finished the cardio stuff and move onto resistance work on the various machines, I tend to ditch the music. For one thing my headphones get sweaty and that can't be good for them. I suppose I could buy a cheap pair just for gym use though. All of the cardio machines at the university gyms I use have TV screens so I'll sometimes plug into a footie match or some cricket, or even a film.
I've certainly listened to the main sequence albums in the gym on numerous occasions, as well as Keys and The Ladder, and various live sets, but music isn't an essential component in gym workouts for me, unless it's really busy, and people are making a lot of noise and I need to shut that out.Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.Comment
