Realistically, it comes as no surprise, but it is a shame he won't be there at all, even if he isn't able to play. I fear this announcement may be a prelude to his forthcoming retirement from all performance.

I'd heard how frail he seemed but that's the first time I've seen it. I'm shocked and saddened by his decline.

Certainly no shock but very sad none the less, and our best wishes go to him and his family.

While I was reading on YesWorld I noticed the tour poster showing the dates has Wed 29 Core as Venue TBC. Huh? So I scrolled down and clicked on the tickets link and it's still showing as Cork Opera House but checking what's available shows that there are a ton of empty seats. Hmmmm....

Yep. Sad news. Age and health issues have creapt up. He's had an incredible life and hope he has many years left.

25 years ago we used to have a McDonalds here with an upstairs room which featured a lifesize wall-size photo-mural of John Lennon, George Harrison and a bunch of other musos that included Alan. I was always quietly proud to see him. Heard him play finally in Sydney 2003. My main memory were the powerful drummin'at the start of DKTW. It was almost a solo! 😍

It's very sad. Alan seems just about the most universally popular of the Yes alumni and I don't think I've ever heard a bad word said of him - usually quite the opposite.

It should go without saying, but I wish him health and happiness and a contented retirement if that's what he decides. He's guaranteed a place in the heart of anyone who's followed the band for many years.

Very disappointing news but not too surprised as I believe he in hospital recently , hope this is not the end of him touring but his health comes first. Met him once such a nice guy and always remember his mum coming to see his shows in Scotland when she was alive even when she was in her elderly years

Hope whatever has caused his withdrawal from the tour gets better and his health improves , in the video re his stolen drum kits etc I have to say he did look very frail
