Since they have postponed Relayer till next year, combined with the fact that pre-corona they toured the US every year during either summer or fall, it would make sense that they tour North America with Relayer after the European tour of Relayer in May and June 2023.

wonder if maybe Australia will be visited as well since they are going to Japan?

(Yes I know they aren't close to each other but still)

Only four dates, I think last time they did 5 in Japan. I would think to make it worth it, you’d want to do more than four shows, but what do I know! It would be nice if they went to Australia and New Zealand for all the fans there that haven’t had a show in a while.

Heh. Same timezone! Just a few hours South by supersonic jet. Imagine YES Live on the footsteps of the Sydney Opera House. Imagine the Roger Dean cover. 😃

            Different promoter to usual too.

If rumours are correct, they may be going to the US straight after, but fingers crossed there's space for (and commercial interest in) dates in Australia and NZ, and indeed in other western Pacific places there are Yes fans but little touring (Singapore, South Korea, Hawaii...).

Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

YES did set up a gig in Jakarta, Indonesia*. Only to have to pull out after terrorist attacks.

*275 million potential new Yesfans 😉

If they are going all the way to Japan for just 5 shows, you think they would add Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and maybe a few other spots. The Less Gear, More Music Tour! Actually, the live rehearsals for the U.S.

Seriously, could it be that the opera house inspired Dean?

Geoff Downes was on the Yes Music Podcast today and confirmed a US tour in Oct/Nov this year. He wasn't clear, but he kinda implied that would be a continuation of the CttE tour, whereas earlier rumours said that would be the start of the Relayer tour.

Between Jon and Yes, lots of CTTE going around this year (at least in GB and the USA.) Hopefully I'll catch a show!

Think Roger was more inspired by Gaudi's organic architecture and Buckmister Fuller's geodesic domes. Has said in interviews. Utzon's opera house would surely thrill him. Was inspired by unpeelin' an orange and usin' only what was left to piece together the form. There are hints of shell-like forms in his art. He does prefer organic lines to straight forms. Not a Bauhaus guy. Art Nouveau and deco-arts have a say with him as well.
