Any Quest songs at UK 2022 dates?

    Hi,
Just got the news that the European leg of the Relayer tour has been postponed to 2023, so (my family and) I will have to wait until then to see them in Zurich.

But I see there are a few tickets left for Royal Albert Hall in London in June 2022 and am thinking of a trip across the channel.

As much as I won't mind seeing CttE and the usual hits played again, it would really make it more worthwhile for me if they played a couple songs from The Quest. I had a quick look at the Tours subforum and don't see any mention of this. And YesWorld only refers to CttE and the greatest hits.

So what do you think the chance is they will be playing something from The Quest in June in the UK? thanks

I hope they will play a couple, they all seem very happy with it

Might even preview something from what they're working on now..
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Doubtful without any new album scheduled to be released. I would expect TIB and one other The Quest track.
        Not on Yes' payroll.

I would be reasonably happy with two tracks from The Quest. Has anyone in the band said anything about this?

ok, I could. But I would be flying from Switzerland, buying a ticket, and getting a hotel room in London. That is a bit of expense and it would have been nice to have a bit more tangible hope.

Really? Fore-knowledge of the setlist including material from The Quest would actually serve as a sort of incentive, such that it would significantly offset the expense of traveling and going to the show?
What a bizarre world this is! I can't fathom that at all.

Downes has mentioned playin' TIB,FM +ALI in interviews when TQ first came out. Take it all with a grain of salt. Hope you get to see the band soon.

btw has anyone else been Skull6'd? Random video message in private messages? Annoyin' spam!

My guess is that by 2023 the band will have phased out any or most Quest material, as the tour itself may have changed. Remember how the Ladder tour kinda morphed into the Masterworks Tour the following year? It may be a scenario like that. The Ice Bridge alone may likely be retained for a future tour, but that's just me guestimating. I hope they do emphasize the new album a bit, be it the Quest or the work-in-progress Quest vol, II. No sense making the thing if they can't play a couple songs from it. Let's hope the Quest doesn't just fade away like Union, Talk, OYE, Magnification or H&E before it, mostly never to be revisited again.

Well Steve used the term "spearhead" to the album in describin' TIB. So he is proud of the song and surely Juano, Geoff and Billy have more of a say on setlist. Surely?

Would hope that a happy and settled lineup would lean more into their own stuff. Billy to get The More We Live. Juano ALI + FM. Geoff FFH. All gold standard stuff.
Lose ISAGP, Add Homeworld for Billy.

Now off to watch YES in Bethlehem. Doin' Gates. The current lineup.

Unfortunately, I think they will play one or more Quest songs. I'm still not over Relayer being cancelled to be honest...

Nothing's been confirmed, but I expect them to play between one and three songs from The Quest. Howe, Downes, White and Davison have all previously talked about playing some of the album live in comments spanning from Sep 2021 to Jan 2022. The specific piece that has been mentioned most is "The Ice Bridge". I think they're proud of the album (and that's why they've moved quickly into another new album). There was a rumour last month that they would play 2 TQ tracks.

Watching the 2019 Bethlehem Gates. Well, my oh my, they play it with aplomb. Remarkable. Geoff is fine doin' shrill fusion synths. Schellen is a monster. Billy looks so relaxed. Steve is in his element. It really hinges on Steve. If he can play SC, then I can see these boys "aplombin'" the bejesus out of it. Sorry, naysayers.
Juano soars in Soon. And can actually play guitar.

Now back to the upcomin' UK tour. Will they open the gig with CTTE? Or leave it to run in sequence and end with AYAI? So many questions. So little time.

I can envision it being like Steve Hackett's recent tours - first set is solo Hackett classics/couple new songs from latest album, intermission, then Genesis stuff for the second half. It Yes' case it may be like: first half is Yes classics and a couple songs from the Quest, intermission, Close To The Edge 50. The Relayer show would be like that too, just substitute CTTE with Relayer in full. Encore is either Roundabout and Starship Trooper or Starship Trooper and Roundabout. Just guestimating, sounds plausible. I could be wrong. But not about the Roundabout/Starship Trooper encore. That will happen, I have seen the future.
