Yes’s Starship Trooper in an epic all-star ensemble for Roadie Relief

    Nicely done

A 17-musician ensemble comprising guitarists Steve Stevens, Alex Skolnick, Richard Fortus and more has performed an epic cover of Yes’s prog-rock masterpiece Starship Trooper in its entirety to support Roadie Relief.

      An impressive version. Exhilarating stuff!
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Nice find OF! Once again I have to stand on my soapbox and say Starship Trooper is one of the finest Rock-N-Roll songs of all time and I don't know why more bands that do covers don't play it. It is also Yes' finest closing song by far - if you want to send the kids back out in the streets wound for sound close with ST and blow the place to pieces!

P.S. I see that it was released Wednesday on 420 so they get extra credit here in the US

Wow... okay. Almost didn't make it past the first few minutes... Glad I hung on! That's quite a workout, lots of passion projected there.

The third, and final singer from The Roots did it for me. Didn't really care for the other two vocalists, to be truthful.

With you there. I’m not familiar with any of these artists. I thought the first vocalist was ok, the young woman pretty dreadful, but it really started to take off from the aaaahhh-aaaahhhs on vocally. Fitting I suppose that it did gradually build to a really great climax and pretty faithful to the original.
