I really have no idea how that would work out. They play great together live. However that's no guarantee for forming a good partnership when it comes to writing new music. And even though the Geeks separately have written original music for several other projects each of them is or has been involved in, as far as I know as a band they've only done covers and not written any original material together.
It's possible Jon could work with some or all of the Band Geeks, but I would assume it would be for Jon Anderson solo album rather than a collaborative new 'band' scenario, even if some of the Geeks contributed some songwriting. A studio album could be billed as by Jon Anderson & The Band Geeks though, I could see that.
Well I heard a clip of the new song on Patreon and it sounds really great, a bit like 'Mind Drive' merged with 'Give Love Each Day"
It has a long >1m rocking intro then it quiets down for the main melody which is rather catchy
it is a bit of a mind bender because you get transported back in 2004 when we had the old yes functioning
in any case I don't think it's weirder than the 'Invention Of Knowledge'
Here's to new Jon music in any shape or form
I totally agree. I’d love to hear Jon create new Yes music with the Geeks. He’s been looking for a vehicle to do this and he’s got one now. Bring it on.
I hope they realize this. An opportunity for Jon to give us that other (another) CTTE he often mentions, and many have waited for. I think that would happen if he approached it as a Yes project, noy something like IOK or Open.

Yup and I think some of the negativity aimed towards Jon is that some folks feel burned by him for promising things in the past and not following through. His sometimes ungrounded, almost OCD passion for the next musical project distracts him from putting some roots down in a project that could actually have some legs and staying power. He’s almost 80, I’m not sure this leopard is going to change his spots at this point but……….he might have mellowed enough to see the opportunity that the Geeks represent. A lot would have to align for new music to happen but I hope it does.
Richie had 3 of his songs make the new BOC album as well as several solo tunes out there besides Band Geeks. I get it's not Yes like musically but he has the chops and is a huge prog fan so I would be very interested what he could bring to the table with some of Jon's ideas

As a unit, the Band Geeks are what they are, gunslingers that can nail the material as good as or in some cases better than the original. Expecting a chemistry between them and Jon Anderson for new music is something else altogether.
I'll be optimistic! A recording project like this is likely to have come from a place of inspiration, so good or bad, it will be a recording of people that were inspired to create together. There's no historical baggage or expectations for them to record at all, so I figure they must really have something they like.
