Starship Trooper. Jon sounds good. The band actually tears it up at the end, pretty kick ass.

Holy crap, these guys are smoking. Energy, vibe, killer riffing. Jon looks like he’s in his glory. There’s one point during the keyboard solo of the Wurm section where Jon just shakes his head because the guy is just lighting it on fire, blistering. This is Yes music folks and yes, this is the way it needs to be played.

Here's the setlist, assuming this is correct:
Get the Jon Anderson Setlist of the concert at The Space at Westbury, Westbury, NY, USA on April 14, 2023 from the YES - Epics & Classics Featuring Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks Tour and other Jon Anderson Setlists for free on setlist.fm!
I'm happy that a couple '80s tracks made the cut. Would rather hear Gates than Ritual or CTTE, though.

The band is indeed on fire and Jon sounds great. However since Jon admitted to using Autotune on the 1.000 Hands tour and people with inside info saying he used a lot of the same sort of technology on the ARW tours, I can't help but wondering how much of it is Jon and how much it's the technology.

This band is smoking hot indeed ! They're all top-notch aces. The bass player is perfect, the lead keyboardist plays an amazing solo, adding his own stylings but retaining the spirit of the original. I wouldn't want to have to compete against this band...and then they have Jon. But they also have a second keyboardist so that's cheating a bit.

Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

The clips sound damned good. I do wish the band stretched things out and played around a little more with the music and arrangements. A live “Awaken” that is nearly the same length as the studio version just seems “wrong” to me somehow. I’m gonna be reaching for Montreux 2003 for the full treatment. It seems like Jon Anderson and Peter Gabriel are really the last vocalists standing from their generation who can still sound like some decent version of themselves.
Autotune? If he’s got it then at least it’s hard to hear and he’s using it for its original intended purpose to provide minor corrections as opposed to that idiotic crap you hear on the radio where everybody sounds like a damned robot. If you listen to boots Anderson has actually been using some kind of effects on his live vocals for a pretty long time, since the 90s at least. Usually it’s sort of that Ozzy type doubling/ flanging effect that makes him sound a little fuller and thicker.

Even though it’s just Facebook and YouTube clips, you can really feel and hear the difference. There’s vitality there, there’s mojo, there’s drive and passion on display. These guys are only going to get better and fine tune it. It’s so nice to hear Yes music the way it deserves to be played. I hope they go on a run and I hope Jon doesn’t get scattered and ungrounded and flitter away this great opportunity.
