    "THE QUAGMIRE OF LIFE"

The new multi-dimensional concept album by YES featurin' Jon and the Geeks. Tells the tale of a man who builds a time machine back to the Seventies. Available on Spotify and purple-coloured vinyl.

I doubt that fronting a generic "cover band" will sell tickets, unless he pre-releases set lists that are really appealing.

I’m sure he’d love to tour with a band that can play like Yes but doesn’t expect to be paid like Yes…

That's basically the premise of Glass Hammer's Chronomaut album (Post-Jon Davison era). A prog singer tries to go back in time to the 70s and do it all again- better, and in a time period where he thinks the music will be more appreciated than if he were to try to do it in his present. However, he's arguably insane and quite possibly schizophrenic. It's not clear that there really is a time machine even within the fictional context of the music.

At least that's what I got from the album. It's a prog concept album, so, you know, it's, probably by design, not the easiest story to get an absolute bead on in terms of what the band was intending. They're fairly accessible online, though. They probably mentioned exactly what the intended meaning was- which may or may not be what I think it was.

"A lot of the heavier conversations I was having with Chris toward the end were about his desire for this thing to go forward. He kept reiterating that to me. [...] He kept telling me, 'No matter what happens, Yes needs to continue moving forward and make great music. So promise me that that's something you want to do.'. And I have to keep making music. It's just what I do. [...] I'm a fan of the band and I want to see it thrive and that means new music." -Billy Sherwood

The Band Geeks aren't a Yes cover band. They are a side project of several professional musicians, who do covers of lots of artists, including Yes.

            And, dbar, it's "schizophrenic"!

"Lost in the Quagmire of Life"? A euphemism for stoned out of my head in California, I suspect. Good luck Jon. I shan't be coming to see ABG.

I'm really looing forward to the Band Geek Anderson tour (Richie stated on a podcast it's set for 2023). Those guys are all fantastic musicians. I'd rather see this than the Relayer tour. Big fan of Richie's work in Blue Oyster Cult since 2004 as well

How I get my Chris Squire Bass Sound -(if your a tech geek, this is pretty cool)

This is how I get a Chris Squire inspired bass tone using a Rickenbacker 4001 and a Line 6 Helix. The Helix presets can be found here...Rick-O-Sound:https://l...

The Band Geeks did some really great covers of Yes songs on YouTube. Like Henry said, these guys are pros. I'm actually looking forward to this.

Admire Jon for gettin' out and singin'. The psychological blow that someone who founded a band and led it and now is not invited to return must be massive.
He could easily be bitter and drown his sorrows.

So would see ABG if they came down here. To support Jon who has given me untold listenin' pleasure over the years.
