That's why I posted the caveat. Let's face it, we're playing fantasy football here, not what is going to happen in likelihood. On Fantasy Island, Howe and Anderson are once again avid collaborators and in decent form. It's that that easily outstrips anything other iterations seem to be capable of.

It's not at all likely to happen. What you describe is what we've got and the reason for what we've got. That's reality. Wish lists don't have to reflect that.

The falsettos near the end could be him.

Olias of Sunhillow should have been Awarded something back when it was released.

The nominees for Album of the Year were
        • Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life
        • Boz Scaggs - Silk Degrees
        • Chicago - Chicago X
        • George Benson - Breezin'
        • Peter Frampton - Frampton Comes Alive
While Wonder and Frampton were certainly worthy of their nomination, and I do think Chicago put out a fine album, I'm thinking that Boz Scaggs was an odd choice.

Here's the lead track from Silk Degrees. THAT is pretty drecky.

The vocalizations in the song are Chris and Trevor.

I disagree just because I know that album fairly well, and for blue-eyed soul it's pretty damn good.

Not for nothing, but Pitchfork in their Sunday historical series rated it 8.8 out of 10, pretty (as you say) damn good: https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums...-silk-degrees/

They did a review of Yes' big ones back in the day, too, but you may want to skip their off-hand rating of Big Generator…

I think it's one of those albums that's easy for people to focus on what it *doesn't* do, rather than what it *does* do. Or something.

                  I love the album.

Eh, it's not always necessary to compare when it comes to music. Like love relationships - just be present in the moment, with this person, this time.

BIG GENERATOR was a product of 1987, and the relationships (up and down) that got the songs to tape.

"Final Eyes", "Shoot High Aim Low", "Love Will Find A Way", even "Holy Lamb" are songs that I still love quite a bit that I can play with no reservation in the year 2022 - 35 long years later.

Do I "LOVE" BIG GENERATOR? Yeah - I think I do. LOL

Yep. Boz was huge downunder. Huge selling albums. Tours. TV appearances.
A lot of his stuff sounded Steely Dannish. No wonder that he is 1/3 of The Dukes of September touring outfit, today.

With Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald. Not too shabby company. Deserved of a RRHOF nom.

I've been playing a lot of BG at home lately. Some of the peaks are higher than 90125 for me. I just have to skip Almost Like Love and the title track. Otherwise an excellent album!

Boz Scaggs is one smooth cat.... Not to mention having big chunk of Toto on Silk Degrees, as well as one of Toto's best writers co-writing the 3 hits from the album... A unique classic album full of talent.

Saw Boz Scaggs live a few years back because my dad had extra tickets. Not the kind of thing I would normally gravitate to, though I don't mind Boz Scaggs, but he was quite good. Smooth, professional, soulful. Enjoyed it quite a lot. Silk Degrees is good. A little bit of yacht rock is good for the soul.

Great show we saw in New Buffalo Michigan. At the casino and hotel it was almost like a yes convention talking to other fans. Too bad they were not able to do an album.
