  • New version of the yes album coming

The Yes Album (Super Deluxe Edition) is due 24 Nov 2023. This is a 4CD + 1LP + 1Blu-ray box set and will include previously unreleased live and studio material. The LP is the original analogue cut of the album. CD1 is the original album, CD2 is the Steven Wilson remixes plus his instrumental mixes from the Panegyric re-release series.

    CD3 Rarities:
    1. "Your Move (Single Version)"
    2. "Starship Trooper (Single Version)"
    3. "Clap (Studio Version)"
    4. "Yours is No Disgrace (Mono Mix)", this would seem to be a 1971 promo mono mix done by Atlantic
    5. "The Clap (Mono Mix)"
    6. "Starship Trooper (Mono Mix)"
    7. "I've Seen All Good People (Mono Mix)"
    8. "A Venture (Mono Mix)"
    9. "Perpetual Change (Mono Mix)"
    10. "Starship Trooper (Alternate Take)", previously unreleased
    11. "Untitled Instrumental", previously unreleased
CD4 Live (described as all previously unreleased):
    1. "Astral Traveller", first 2 tracks recorded at Konserthuset, Gothenburg, Sweden, 21 Jan 1971, says the promo material, but Gothenburg was actually 24 Jan and those tracks were released on The Word is Live
    2. "Everydays"
    3. "Yours is No Disgrace", remaining tracks recorded at The Yale Bowl, New Haven, CT, 24 Jul 1971
    4. "Your Move"
    5. "I've Seen All Good People"
    6. "The Clap/Classical Gas"
    7. "Perpetual Change"
The Blu-ray contains an Atmos remix of the album by Wilson.

The song that would interest me most is the alternate take of Starship Trooper.

Is there anything here not released / not around already? At first glance doesn’t look like it….I’m guessing the 71 live, all those tracks, were Not officially released / all together.

guess this renders my Wilson bluray obsolete now 🤷‍♂️😁 🤣🤣🤣

I wonder if the mono tracks are the same as ,or from , the mono white label promo??

        That intrigues me, too.
(In addition, the single version would handily fit on a couple of playlists that the original is too long for.)

I had thought that I already had a single version of Your Move, but I guess not!

What's the point of a mono mix?
Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

I can't abide the steven wilson remixes. Let's just leave stuff alone, these albums are great as they are.
Some official live concert recordings would be good, but i suspect the moment has gone...

Nothing here to make me want this. As far as the mono mix... there was no dedicated mono mix of this album. It’s just a fold-down of the stereo, created for airplay purposes and issued to radio stations only. Marketing gimmick at best.

                        Hopefully Bass Odyssey.
                        Not on Yes' payroll.

Yeah, it seems to me this is all already released stuff, repackaged. No interest from me. And the one unknown song will probably make its way to YouTube soon enough, if it's not already there under another name.

I broke this news over a fortnight ago. I was wondering if anyone wanted to talk about it!

The alternate take of "ST" and the unnamed instrumental interest me most. It's going to be an expensive boxset, however, and I don't want a set including vinyl I'll never do anything with.

                              That's what I've been wondering.
