I gave "Luminosity" more chances but maybe last time for a very very long time. It is such an sick head cheese. No, thanks.

All Connected
Cut from the Stars
Mirror to the Sky
Unknown Place
Living Out Their Dream
One Second Is Enough
Magic Potion
Circles of Time
Luminosity
The top 4 will get regular airplay with me. The rest I'm not likely to listen to very much in the future.Comment

Agreed. I said earlier that the vocal part, melody line sounds like some sort of church Hymn. But upon some further listening I find it more resembling some little kids song on Ceebeebees (kids channel on the BBC). I can see Jon encouraging the kids to get their arms in the air and sway to the music. The instrumental intro and outro of the song are oké, but beyond that it's a low point for Yes IMO.Comment

Having lived with the album for a couple of weeks now, and while this might as always be subject to change:
Mirror to the Sky - the clear winner for me. Controversial, I know!
Unknown Place - musically one of the more interesting pieces, and one I keep coming back to
All Connected - like Unknown Place, pretty strong, just a couple (greying) hairs short of the title track
One Second Is Enough - pleasant melody, some of the better lyrics
Cut from the Stars
Circles of Time - I like it more musically than lyrically
Magic Potion - also more musically than lyrically, not quite as memorable as Circles
Luminosity - just hasn't made an impression yet
Living Out Their Dream - hmm… well. Musically kind of quirky, with a lot of "Going for the One" shades to it, but lyrically it's just off-putting, borderline Mystery Tour territory.
I should, for context, admit that most of my listening right now is either cycling to work or working at work, so… MttS and Unknown Place are just about perfect for the ride, and seem to hit some of my hills at just the right place. Make of that what you will…Comment

New rankings for me as of June 7th 2023
1. Cut from the Stars - Maybe the best new yes song since Homeworld
2. Mirror to the Sky - Very good indeed though maybe too long
3. All Connected - Disconnected but I love all the parts
4. Magic Potion - Steve is on fire on this one
5. Living Out Their Dream - Good fun song
6. One Second Is Enough - Another great showcase for Steve
7. Unknown Place - Might be higher if not for the tribal chanting
Must skip
Circles of Time - Jon D has already done this on The Quest and it didn't work then.
Luminosity - could have worked as an edited instrimentalComment

Mirror to the Sky
Pretty sure this will remain my favorite.
Magic Potion
Luminosity
All Connected
Circles of Time
Cut From the Stars
I like all of these, can't really rank them accurately, but CFtS is probably my least favorite of the bunch for now.
Unknown Place
One Second is Enough
Living Out Their Dream
OK, and fun instrumentally, but meh...

I still can't rank the tracks on this properly. I like them all. I think I like Magic Potion the least (but I like it, nevertheless). Several people seem to dislike Circles of Time, but I find some very pleasing vocal moments in it. It will be perfect for my 'relaxing music' playlist, that I like to listen to as I fall asleep. (These songs are not boring songs that will put me to sleep! They are songs I do like, but as an exception to my usual preference for faster-paced songs - I don't want to feel energised when I need to sleep!)
I liked The Quest after multiple listens, but I think I will end up liking MttS even more. My main thoughts on TQ were that I would prefer more vocal harmonies and multiple voices, and would like more energy in at least some of the songs. These issues have been addressed in MttS. And there are even snippets that remind me of 70s songs, which is definitely a good thing. My main problem initially was that some of the rhyming seemed a bit contrived and awkward in places, but I have got used to that, now, and it doesn't really bother me any more. Similarly, some of the lyrics I found a little odd, but they have settled better with me, now. I suppose it is easier to overlook them as the song as a whole becomes more familiar.
My favourites? I like the title track, but am finding it a bit over-long sometimes (perhaps an odd opinion to have about a Yes song). I also like Cut From the Stars a lot. I enjoy Unknown Place while I am listening to it, but struggle a little to remember it when I am not hearing it. I suppose that will change at some point. I also usually like All Connected and Luminosity, but sometimes I feel differently about them. So, in summary, I guess the closest I can come to a ranking at the moment is:
Cut From the Stars
Mirror to the Sky / Unknown Place
All Connected / Luminosity
Circles of Time
Living Out their Dream / One Second is Not Enough
Magic Potion👍 1Comment
