Mirror to the Sky is out - and Prog review

I know MttS isn't technically out until Friday, but some people have already received their pre-orders.

The latest issue of Prog reviews the album. The reviewer has good and bad things to say, but calls it the best Yes album for >20 years. There's also a 6-page article about the making of the album.

The entire back cover is an ad for the album.

The article is nice, but not that much new if you've read/watched obsessively every other interview to date.

I'm just reading my copy of Prog now. The review is by Sid Smith, one of the magazine's most respected journalists. It's mostly a good review. His only negative seems to be a dislike of Living Out Their Dream - "plodding dreariness" "unimaginative rocker whose by the numbers presence here is baffling". Yep, I'm guessing he doesn't like it!

Does Smith need to walk a fine line here? He’s been employed by the band in the past, hasn’t he?

He did liner notes for the Panegyric re-releases about a decade ago, so he would have been employed by Panegyric. Panegyric were licensing the album material from Warner.

I don't think he has. As Henry says he's written liner notes for Yes before, but not for the band. He's well known for being a fountain of knowledge about King Crimson, and wrote their biography a few years ago.
