THE EAGLE HAS LANDED
Oh. We got song titles and lengths of two. 😘
love the feelin' when someone breaks the news , colsky thankyou, and you can start singin' Luminossity to random melodies and phrasin'.
Usually up on the high street I'll quietly sing and hum The Ice Bridge, just loud enough for random passerbys to get a wee bit of 21C YES Official in their day. Call it a community service. So. Today. Was all about "Luminosity" and speculative renditions.
So less than 2 months away.
First YES album to feature SKY in title?
Time, Light, Geometry, Astronomy, Light, Love, Sky,
Balance...all the usual timeless and universal suspects.
Longer songs. Perhaps arranged by whole group?
Can't wait to see cover.
Goin' back to newsagents now to see if they have prog mag etc.
Love the run-up excitement to the drop at midnight.
The speculation. 😆
So are there more orchestral backin'?
More Billy on back vox?
Did Henk and Roger inspire Juano to write title song?
What weird guitar will Steve bring out, like the koto?
Just love the feelin' after someone tells you the name of YES new album and song titles. The world seems sweeter, the sun warmer, smiles on peoples' faces wider, birds singin' louder, a slowly turnin' world of pure wonder. 😍

Cut from the Stars (5:25)
All Connected (9:02) Looks like yet another Sherwood song about "modern" technology
Luminosity (9:04)
Living Out Their Dream (4:45) the title reminds me of Living in a World of our own, shouldn't it belong on the bonus disc if it's out of the main concept ?
Mirror to the Sky (13:53) A title track is not so common for YES and a 14 min long song also...
Circles of Time (4:59)
Bonus disc : This is a second time for YES and I'm not sure I like this new habit...I get it that it makes for the 4th vinyl side...but in the case of the Quest I rarely play the bonus disc although I'm fond of Sister Sleeping Soul which I think should have been on the main disc...
Unknown Place" (8:15) Enigmatic title, could it have found its place on the main disc ?
One Second is Enough" (4:04)
Magic Potion" (4:08) another novelty song, a la Mystery Tour ?

Well The Quest was released on October 1 2021 and first single The Ice Bridge was released on July 23 2021, so 2 1/2 months before. So I wouldn't be surprised if a single drops either by the end of this week or early next week.

On the other hand, these might be on Ebay soon and get to you faster than that other approach if you don't mind slightly used and paying over list price after a wait. I've got to think you'd be bidding against both Yes fans and King Crimson collectors (Due to the cover) on this one, though.
I am using "you" here in a generic sense. I know it's not you, Henry. Maybe you, Gilly. But basically anyone who wants a deadtree copy of the magazine and can't find one."A lot of the heavier conversations I was having with Chris toward the end were about his desire for this thing to go forward. He kept reiterating that to me. [...] He kept telling me, 'No matter what happens, Yes needs to continue moving forward and make great music. So promise me that that's something you want to do.'. And I have to keep making music. It's just what I do. [...] I'm a fan of the band and I want to see it thrive and that means new music." -Billy Sherwood

Just looked up Luminosity definition.
Intruigin'. Says it is the INTRINSIC brightness of a celestial body. Not the way it appears but what it really is. Could be a powerful metaphor in this age of toxic positivity instagrammable lives?
•CUT FROM THE STARS
OK. This sounded like an expression. Nearly. In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is this. Btw. The poetry here is astonishin'.....Give me my Romeo; and, when he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of heaven so fine That all the world will be in love with night And pay no worship to the garish sun.
•All Connected
Could be right about this, esp if Sherwood wrote it.
Peter Gabriel had a recent similar song about justice surveillance around the world. The Court.
•Living Out Their Dream
Gotta feelin' this song is about someone. Specific.
Not general. Kinda like The Messenger was about Bob Marley. Again a nighttime reference.
•Mirror to the Sky. Now this is interestin' as we know the backstory of the album cover and Henk Roger's nighttime lake paddle. Etc etc. Will be fascinatin' how Juano interprets this story or memory to a wider theme. Like ALI it may start personal but then turn to the universal. The psychology of awe and wonder and mystery. Think I'm most excited to hear this one. Gut instinct.
• Circles of Time
chimes to me of Giambattista Vico's theory of the cyclical nature of man and empires. Joyce used it as a structure in Finnegan's Wake. Mankind goes through 3 distinct phases. And then repeats.
1. The world is ruled by Gods and myth
2. The world is ruled by Kings and legend
3. The world is ruled by Man and democracy
Vico was essentially describin' the Roman Empire and his Italian heritage.
Or. It might be just about clocks.
•Unknown Place.
Nah. Got nothin'.
•One Second is Enough.
Really Mr Howe? Most scientists say it takes at least 7 seconds to gain a first impression.
•Magic Potion.
Gawd I hope it's about Merlin. Peak Prog.Last edited by Gilly Goodness; 03-07-2023, 08:54 PM.
