Can someone walk me through the thought process that leads them to think Jon Anderson and the Band Geeks could become Yes in 2025 or beyond? Or is it a fantasy like the Billy Joel song?

Well I can think of multiple bands with a "Lady of the Lake" song so that's.... Starcastle, Crown Lands, Gnidrolog (arguably), Rick Wakeman himself.... we're up to four ladies, or 12 wishes. That's at least another few decades of line-up changes on demand if you're smart.👍 1Comment

And the notion that Yes still exists is debatable, so fantasies tend to abound in many corners of the Yes fan universe.

I listened to a big chunk of the album. It's not bad. It's a promising first attempt from a group of 18 year olds. I'm not that certain what it tells us a quarter of a century later about the prospects for a hypothetical Jon/Geeks studio album.Comment

The only point I was really making was that it would be nice to have another option for a potential Yes type of release from another principal in the Yes family tree. Steve has his version going and I feel like the Geeks give Jon the best opportunity to create something that he’s been talking about for awhile. Will it happen? Given Jon’s track record, we’d all be foolish to get our hopes up but you never know.👍 1Comment

While the Geeks tour is a success and exciting, I wonder whether it would be better for Jon to finish the four (five?) projects* he's mentioned in interviews rather than starting another! But, at the end of the day, Anderson will do what he wants to do -- it's not up to us. He's got plenty more to give, so I'm interested in anything he has to offer.
* In one interview, he talked about Chagall and "four other musicals". More recently, he said, "I'm finishing four projects for the coming five years." But he's not been clear, at least anywhere I've seen, what these are. I'm guessing Chagall (which is a little bit Yessy), Zamran (might be quite Yessy, certainly in terms of going for longer forms of music, albeit maybe it will be more trance-y and chant-y than prog rock), 1000 Hands (see above) and Opus Opus (which might have the potential to be the most Yes-like, a modern Tales?).Comment
