The obvious first point would be that the Geeks are more talented, more passionate and have way more energy than YesO do right now. A core faction of the Geeks, Castellano, Graziano and Ascolese recorded a prog album back in 1999 when they were in college. While it is demo quality and the vocals aren’t what they could be, you can hear the bones of major talent there with a group of guys who are all around 20 years old. Chris Clark (keyboards) has all the chops of a Wakeman/Moraz hybrid. Yes need a master behind the keys and they haven’t had that in quite awhile.
Maybe, in your not so humble opinion, the Geeks rulez while YesO suxxx, but if retro material is to decide who's more talented, then IMHO Revealing is better than anything on that Demo.Symphony

I love the members of the Yes Defense League showing up in all their objectivity about Steve’s Yes. Whatever, different strokes for different folks. Some of us like some pep in our Yes music. Cut from the Stars was a little blush of life, good for them. Let’s see if anything else on MTTS gets into any sort of gear that inspires passion for the music and puts a grin on one’s face. Geeks live put YesO to shame. I know it’s a hard pill to swallow for the YDL.👍 1Comment

The proggiest piece is this one:

Then there is this one, which is kinda lovely and could be the seed of a much more extended, fleshed out musical composition.

Like I said above, this is a bunch of 20 year old college kids. It’s demo quality and the vocals are amateurish but the musical skill and ability to craft pieces is apparent and burgeoning.Comment

The only objectively obvious thing here is that the Geeks have way more energy than YesO.
The rest is subjective and everybody is free to dispute it. Unless this really is a registered church and I am being disrespectful towards your beliefs.Symphony

Anyway, the OP was who should write the next Yes album.
If by 2025+ Yes is actually Jon and the Geeks, then it should be them, and JonD and Billy can write the next AoL as a hobby project. But if YesO is still YesO as 2025+, well then Jon is free to do his hobby project.Symphony

I may have skipped over it, but has anyone said: Let’s hear this album first, and then ‘decide’ who may write the next?👍 6Comment

Sorry to disrupt your little church here, but you wrote:

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
And this:
NJ Performing Arts Center, Newark, NJ. Second show of the tour. Yes Epics & Classics featuring Jon Anderson and the amazing Band Geeks! Jon Anderson: Vocal...
I don’t think any church will be able to save you……if you’re into that kinda thing. And I’m not talkin’ just energy. Listen to the musical execution and the difference in musical talent. Listen to the difference in the crowds too, it tells you a lot. And this is conceding better audio with the YesO version of CTTE.

I suppose we could rule out Jon Anderson, Pete Banks, Tony Kaye, Rick Wakeman, Chris, Alan and and of course Tony O’Reilly. I don’t believe Danny or Hillary Swank or anyone named Hillary for that matter may be involved. Perhaps some new AI where no one writes, sings or plays a damn thing, written by machine on new technology.
How many people are in the band, Danny? Math:variables/ combinations should be easy. I don’t believe my input will be required or asked for ever since I wrote the entire concept and album for Close to the Edge.
Try to spend less time coming up with the first threads on everything bullshite. Taking time for things to evolve and proceed naturally, and at a realistic pace would be best, and put you in a better light.
“R.i.p. Danny who had to be first at everything in the YESworld.
“Doesn’t esp. sound flattering or have a good look, just like this place:this thread . The new album hasn’t even been released or streamed publicly. And what makes you think Steve in the boys didn’t come up with not one, not two, but three albums in the can? ;-)Comment
