Let's talk about it here, I think I deleted by mistake two posts about it from the other topic as I tried to move them... Sorry about that

I was just saying that with Billy being in the group who is so prolific in his output, a new album may arrive sooner than expected. Jon and Geoff are certainly capable of writing a lot of material, and Jay has shown he can bring great energy to the rhythm section.
Even Steve seems intent that Mirror to the Sky is just the beginning of a new chapter:
As YES did in the seventies from one album to another, we’re growing and moving forward. In later years, YES often got going but then didn’t do the next thing. This album is demonstrative of us growing and building again.”
I'm so glad that the greatest band in the world is still active for me to enjoy as such a latecomer to the partyLast edited by soundchaser09; 03-27-2023, 09:53 AM.The Definitive YES Albums

Thoughts on possible 2025 YES album:
HIGHER CENTURY
Produced by Trevor Horn.
The epic Horizon is featured.
Taylor Hawkins gets a posthumous co-write on 1 song.
A song co-written by Juano. Described as Wish You Were Here for the 21st Century. (A higher century?. .
I've said too much)
Chris Braide co-writes 3 songs. Plays piano on 1 track.
Jay Schellen reveals he is part Native American
Roger Dean's cover is inspired by the Bungle Bungles from Western Australia.
Freya Dean curates 5 of the best Japanese animators to produce 5 videos.

Ok much like I have said in the past regarding yes
1. I Never want the same thing I had last time.. even if I love Mirror to the sky I don’t want Mirror to the sky 2
2. Keep up the energy from Cut From the stars
3. Maybe cool it on the orchestral passages Steve
4. Maybe bring in an outside producer again
5. GO THROUGH THIS as the title and first single
6. No solo songs
7. A few more Downes/Davison songs
and yeah that’s about it for now

5) Go Through This doesn't need to be the basis of an epic track or the title track in general, nor does it have to be the 'single', but it should be released. I guess I'm ok with it being a digital single, though it doesn't necessarily need to spearhead the album or represent it. It should be released though.
6) I don't mind solo songs, but maybe less Steve solo songs unless they are totally Yessified. Jon Anderson had solo credits, Chris had a few, but these had been given the Yes treatment. Oliver Wakeman had some a few years ago with From A Page. As long as it sounds like someone giving themselves to the Yes machine rather than someone using the Yes machine for their own ends, solo-written tracks are ok by me.
7) More Downes credits would be great, though I would add: let him sound like Geoff Downes and not try to push him to be a Wakeman. Let him play to his strengths - cinematic, electronic, futuristic. Not that he's being held back or forced to play like Rick or that I don't like his input on recent albums, just let him be even MORE Downes, if that makes any sense.
8) I'll take more Sherwood credits too, with bass and backing vox up in the mix.
