Awaken: Jon Anderson with Todmobile Daily Doug

Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

29 minute video for a 15 minute song? Intriguin'.

Y'all better buckle up. I thought the Professor of Rock was a shill with his constant Zenni eyewear plugs.

But the good pastor, he must be a pastor. He gives Strong Pastor Energy. Spends 4 minutes shillin' some mattress.

Y'all. Too much information. Now I can't get how he and his wife sleep at night outta my mind. Sideways. Oh do behave. 😯

Now to the best part. A drink every time he says "Oh. A dimished sixth into the key of G minor. Y'all."

As for the clip. Jon and The Icelandees hit it out of the park. Strong Viking Energy!!!

    11/8. first drink 🍷

    E flat. Second drink 🍷

OK Awaken is a great 5 minute song for me. Steve's great solo. Then I checkout. Bye.

I've been a part of his community for over a year, on his Patreon, and he's a very generous, warm, positive, musically very knowledgeable, and friendly guy, he's genuine and honest, and I consider Doug a friend of mine. Your facetiousness isn't nice. It's a bit insulting and a bit upsetting, to be honest.

The sponsorship thing is very rare. Maybe two or three episodes out of the hundreds he's done.

You can find out a bit more about his background, and past and present activities on his new website, some of which may possibly still be under construction. His own choral compositions are rather nice too ...

This is a nice video from this man. I rarely watch any of these "reaction" videos (I skipped the one by the fellow talking about Cut From The Stars - I thought "who has time to watch a 12 minute speech about a 5 minute song?")
But I thought I'd look at this Todmobile reaction for a few minutes and ended up watching it all - he zeros in on one of the things that made Yes so great in the 70's. The composition is very interesting, it has some lovely themes and melody and they are all tied together so brilliantly. Even thought it is an Anderson/Howe composition, there's a lot of input you can feel from others aside from those two (including both Wakeman and Moraz, apparently)

This took me back a bit to the early 80's when I was in a music composition course at school and one day the professor played us Awaken. And he sat there making comments , some of them very similar to the comments of this man. And I was thrilled that day because it was the only time I can recall when a teacher focused on Yes music.
