Sorry to troll, not being mean, but other people have said that as well, and I just don't get it. Those early live versions of Starship Trooper (and a few other songs) sound like the band hadn't quite figured out how to get the song across, nor is Jon's singing that good (IMO he sounds way better on the GFTO and Tourmato tours.) Whether it was technology, the band streamlining their playing, or simply getting better, the Yes (and Jon Anderson) of 1972 and 1978 sound like two different bands.

Your "Highlights" story sounds like me and "The Quest" (still haven't listened !! ). My favorite songs from YESSONGS are still all the songs from the previous tour with Bruford : "Perpetual Change" (best version ever from YESSONGS imho), and "LDR/The Fish"......of all the amazing Chris solo's through the years, and different versions of "Fish" and "Whitefish".....there will never be a version which tops YESSONGS (and I challenge Anyone who disagrees with me !!). Well, let me be the one that curses in church: I think the 9012live version is the best version of Starship Trooper out there.

I don’t think thats trolling at all. Thats a good take amd
        vIew. I don’t agree though. LOL. 😆😆

But that’s the beauty of people’s diff tastes!! 👍👍

As I wrote prev I’m Just hard wired to YESSONGS. My baseline for all live yes. My first Live Yes. And all love threir firsts.

BUT, I will agree that Starship Trooper ‘78 was flipping awesome!!! Never again has it sounded better. Before the age of CDs, internet, etc, when the mode for getting live shows was tape trading and boot vinyl - the go to version of ST was from Wembley ‘78. It just builds and builds and builds. Fabulous.

          “Run away, run away”. 😂😂😂

My first time seeing ST Live was the 90125 tour. And that version holds a very special place for me. Squire strutting around and Kaye’s mannerisms were great fun!!! A wonderful version!!

Maybe a youtube campaign with Rick Beato content. Prog magazine, Uncut, Mojo.
Was surprised no big anniversary release for Fragile. In the age of streaming a physical product would be to woo the diehard and curious young hipster. Imagine getting your next coffee, and some young dude with skinny jeans and a moustache is raving about this amazing music to his barista mate. Casually mention you saw them live in 03.

With news dropped in a media interview by Rick that he is lunching with Howe soon, can't help but think about that other old Yes cover....something's coming. Actually just watched Spielberg's West Side.

gold standard classics should be revived and celebrated!

One thing bothers me. Not about your post, but about the time/timing. If they are just sitting down, let’s assume ok it’s for CTTE celebration, is it legit possibility to get out a product by let’s say 9/13? These guys seem to have busy schedules coming up. Is coordination just starting now? Seems a bit late to me anyway. ??? And dare I ask- what about Jon A (the few who read what I post know I love him 😂) input? Not my biggest concern, just was a thought. Timing is what has me perplexed. I have to say I am very intrigued as to what will transpire.

The 1979 version isn't too shabby.

The first time I saw a Yes concert, I didn't know The Yes Album. It was 1973. They didn't play any of it, though that was something I only learned in the back of my mate's father's car on the way home afterwards. I'd only heard Revealing Science from Tales at that point too; Tales hadn't quite been released, but I'd heard Revealing Science on a late night radio programme, so the only parts of the concert I really know was Close to the Edge, and the encore Roundabout. That was it..
By the time I saw them again on the Relayer Tour in the spring of 1975, and multiple times on that tour, they only played Your Move in a mid-set acoustic thing. Steve Howe did Clap a couple of times, alternating it with Mood For a Day. I yelled myself hoarse at each of those shows at the end for Starship Trooper. I REALLY REALLY wanted them to play it. It had become a big favourite in the intervening 18 months. At least they did Yours is no Disgrace at Reading in August 75, but that was a rare one-off outing for a Yes Album track in the UK.
It wasn't till the Going For the One Tour in 1977 when they played anything from the Yes Album live in the UK in full, as part of the main set. Trooper, finally I got to hear it, was the encore, and I exploded.
Trooper at the Wembley 1978 shows was pretty damned special.
I didn't hear it live again till ABWH in 1989. That was special too.

Sure. The new Dean paintings were painted last year. 3 or 4. Most decisions of production are probably made. My speculation revolves the 2 having lunch to discuss and coordinate a media campaign to promote archival releases. Get their stories straight. Who is going to go on BBC breakfast as Steve and Geoff did a couple of years ago. Good Morning Britain? Print and digital interviews. Approval to air old interviews.

I could be wrong and it's only a catchup between 2 old muckers to chat about the good old days. Football. The meaning of life. We shall soon see. But WAKEY is a media tart. Adept at dropping juicy tidbits to self promote.

Jon Anderson will be interviewed and will do press. Lying supine on his hammock as the soft Pacific breeze blows over San Luis Obispo.

Lying in a hammock with a sea breeze to take the edge off the heat of the Californian sun sounds like a nice way to spend one's day, especially with your 80th birthday under three years away.
That's an image of Jonners I'd like to hang onto.

I wonder if Leicester City Council would mind overmuch if I slung up a hammock in Victoria Park in the summer....?

Since they haven't been celebrating anniversaries of albums all along (or at least they could have started with The Yes Album), I don't see why they would start now.

What Rush has been doing (pairing the original record with a live show from each period) would be sweet, but somehow I don't see that happening either.

Still hopin' for a boxset/media blitz. Now. Before the CTTE50 tour starts. My gut tells me the Gottlieb Bros are leanin' into CTTE on twitter right now, buildin' up to an announcement. And. I believe Wakey and Howe had lunch recently in a swish London restaurant. Plottin' the media campaign and finally buryin' a few hatchets

                          Stranger things have happened.

Why did Dean do extra CTTE covers?

Management or band decide to focus new tour on CTTE?

Or is it just all for the Gottlieb designed tour book?

                                SOMETHING'S COMIN'....

OK. Gottliebs nearly finish CTTE50 tour book?

Will that be all? Will the new Dean CTTE paintings
                                be only included in this?

                                No boxset?
