  • new interview with JJ Jeczalik

Via the Sound On Sound magazine podcast - there's discussion of 90125 around the 20-minute mark. And of course other projects as well.

JJ Jeczalik emerged as the pre-eminent Fairlight programmer of the 1980s primarily as one fifth of the art-pop collective, Art of Noise, but also in projects ranging from ABC and Dollar to Yes and Malcolm McLaren.

Thanks. Listened to the Yes bit. Don’t quite follow when he talks about Chris playing the break in OOALH. Did Chris actually play the Fairlight drum bit?
Anyway, good to hear he was involved in that, once he showed up...

I don't believe so - they put it together before Chris came into the studio. I think they played it for him and then he went it and did his bit.

Ah, I got confused, it’s about that part just before the chorus comes back. Still don’t hear what’s so great about it, though...
