Happy Christmas!" said Bilbo, and he meant it. The sun was shining, and the grass was very green. But Gandalf looked at him from under long bushy eyebrows that stuck out further than the brim of his shady hat.
"What do you mean?" he said. "Do you wish me a happy Christmas, or mean that it is a happy Christmas whether I want it or not; or that you feel happy this morning; or that it is a morning to be happy on?"

Special Xmas miracle occurred!!!
I've never seen a photo of Mrs G when she was a baby or a toddler. On her island home Fiji, because of one reason or another she, the firstborn of 4, never had a photo done. The earliest one I have is when she was 18.
So browsin' facebook early Xmas morn. Her younger brother's page had an old sepia photo with the whole family. Our recently deceased Amma in a sari. Her dad in a tie. 3 kids. And there she was. Long pigtails. Pretty dress. Skinny legs. Beautiful face. 4 or 5 years old. It caught my heart aflame. π
Merry/Happy Christmas, everyone! The big meal is in the oven and Iβm kicking back a bit before setting the table, just listening to some music and hanging out with my cat. After dinner is eaten and has a chance to settle a bit, Iβm going to take a little hike in one of our forest preserves, a tradition Iβve observed since Covid has had me spending the holidays alone. In the meantime, I just want to wish everyone a wonderful day, filled with peace and contentment.
