Big fan of La Wilson. Great set of lungs! Bet this is mega.
Just heard the new single "Greed" and her ooooohs had me from the start. Loud, proud, rocky, riffy, full on blue collar American rawk steaming down the line like an uncontrollable freight train-but in a good way. Fun!
Thanks for the Ann Wilson tip. Heart was the last major concert I saw pre-COVID and (God willing) the last I attended while heavily under the influence of alcohol. Still remember it fairly vividly and took some video clips.
It's nice she'll have some originals on this release - her last two full solo albums have been primarily covers. Another song which will be on the new album that you can listen to now is "Black Wing." Ann's voice is still primarily in fine form, I agree.
Nancy also released a new album last year called You and Me, which is quite lovely.
Louder spotlighted her noew single "Greed" in it's Tracks of the Week this past week. I am impressed that she has not slowed down over the years, her music and singing still have an appealing rock sensibility. What a surprising record cover for an Ann Wilson record, it's great. Funny, I have been thinking that I would like to see Yes take a new approach one in a while with their cover art, it's all the same to me lately - but I love the Dean artwork on someone else's record!
I mean, they patched up and did a reunion tour of sorts in 2019, so I think they're okay. But being on opposite ends of the country, and then the pandemic, meant that they just haven't been doing anything together the past couple years.
Glad to hear. Watched a reuniony video last night of Nancy singing These Dreams in Seattle with Ann. One of my favourite bands from back in the day. They had the magic dust sprinkled over them.
HEART guitarist Nancy Wilson spoke to Joe Rock of Long Island, New York's 102.3 WBAB radio station about her new band NANCY WILSON'S HEART. She is joined in the group by her longtime collaborators, guitarist Ryan Waters, drummer Ben Smith, bassist Andy Stoller and keyboardist Dan Walker, along with...
Re: the beef; I suppose since Ann has been touring with the same guys for a while she wanted to privilege them over the past Heart support players but she should know by now she's not always going to get her way. Old ladies can be stubborn...ask me how I know. 😜
During a recent interview that streamed on TalkShopLive, Nancy Wilson revealed that plans for a new Heart tour were on hold because she and her sister and band mate Ann were at odds over the musicians who would make up the touring version of the group.
Interesting article.
I didn't know Nancy created a new Heart with a replacement singer. Those are some big shoes to fill.
Yeah, it's sort of like when Nancy had Roadcase Royale during the initial period of hiatus/not talking to each other. I really liked that project but it didn't last long.
