I’ve looked at all of my Yes stuff and can’t find it. Must be my imagination.

They can’t call it Nebra Sky because if you run the words together it’s too much like some hillbilly mispronouncing Nebraska as “neh-bra-skee”. Then again, maybe the album is a sparse, acoustic oriented collection of tracks about the working man, various outsider types, New Jersey etc..

    TETRIS THE MOVIE

Starrin' Taron Egerton as Henk Rogers. The inspiration behind YES' new album cover. The nighttime lake canoeist.

Have seen the trailer. No mention of Roger Dean as the game's cover designer. A Cold War story involvin' gettin' the rights to the game. Japanese inventor. On Apple + soon...

Henk. Tetris developer. Climate activist. Martian enthusiast. Now to be immortalized in movie.

What AI art Generator did you use? Looks great, maybe for making your own wallpapers…
    Hotpot.ai

    First time I've tried AI.

Yeah. My sense is that like chatbots. All the data is averaged out and you get a slightly cliched, disappointin' result.

Dean doesn't do overly symmetrical landscapes.* There's no sense of Dean's special organics. Will be fascinatin' if the NSD is the concept of the album. How he will incorporate the Cosmic parts, geometric designs, aged weatherin'. Like most precious objects. It probably travelled wrapped in animal fur. From King to King. To help realign lunar calendars to solar calendars. And much else. See Crowhurst's lecture and book.

    * perhaps Union cover withstandin'.

OK. We may or may not need to bone up on the NSD. Soon. So. How do you pronounce it? Neebro or Nebro???

For a deep dive, this lecture by Howard Crowhurst is fascinatin' in a kinda Da Vinci Code way. Language. Astronomy. Maths. History. Egyptology. Science. Geometry.

    HOLD THE PRESS

Just learnt that the tin used in the bronze and gold used in the inlays were from Cornwall in the UK. The UK. Where did YES originate? The UK. Steve lives near Cornwall in Devon. In the UK.

    Spooky.

( the copper from Austria. Oh. The latitude of Nebra is almost exactly that of Stonehenge ) 😯

Havin' slept on this. Firstly Steve and Roger have an informal, longstandin' friendship. They swap ideas easily. Both may have seen that Stonehenge exhibition. Steve casually mentions the patination of the bronze with gold accents. Steve also likes photography. He has an eye. He's visually attuned. Roger does a new logo. Runnin' with that idea. As he says. Reduced on the cover. The colours wash out. This idea may not have anythin' to do with the eventual landscape or even a song. I'm hopin' it does. But you never know. Sounds like it could be in Juano's wheelhouse of deep history and Humankind. SNOWFLOWER and all that. The NSD may have been travelled around the known world for religious events. It is all fascinatin'.

Now what I like about TQ was then you have Billy who likes technology and futurism. The Singularity. AI. The Metaverse. So you get a nice thematic opposition. So the upcomin' album may again not be too tied to a single concept. But a collection of songs explorin' different subjects.

What got me tickled by all this is it reminded me of a side table that I designed and made back in the day. A 3 legged ( huon pine ) table with a thin copper patinated circular top. A mate was patinatin' copper for a tall cabinet and so I used some of the chemicals he got from the Chemistry dept at the Uni of Tasmania. You brushed it on the copper (wearin' gloves) and waited 2 days for the acid to work and dissolve the metal and then you washed the thin crust formed off with water. Great results. A greeny-bluey overall colour with speckles and rashes of orange, red and brown. Bronze is 80% copper. Tin is added I think. To toughen it up. I even remember goin' to a ship chandlery to buy copper nails to use to secure the top. Copper in furniture was very 1989!! Metal and wood. Both copper and huon pine ( very ancient and oily timber ) were good for boat buildin'. Resistant to water.

Thanks, nice! I’m getting Tales vibes, with the Chitzen Itza pyramid. Come to think of it, I have once visited Yucatan and saw that pyramid. And this summer we went to Austria and on top of a mountain they had a copy of that same disk. Coincidence? I think not. Everything in the world is about me!
