Back in the day, Big Generator's album cover had different layouts for the vinyl version and the cd/cassette version. The cd and cassette came with a yellow/pinkish colored cover - really not the best color scheme - yellow and pink or maroon don't go together too well. Not the best cover. But the vinyl version from 1987 came in a more pleasing aqua/white/purple background. That to me was a cool cover, futuristic and minimalistic. I went with that. Any remaster should adopt the vinyl cover, that should be the official cover for cd also.

Runners up would be 90125 for its similar tech-y vibe, Going For The One, and the Yes Album isn't bad - with its film edges motif and that the band photo looks like it was shot in the dressing room of some department store, with the mannequin head and all.

liked the Yes logo for Talk. Wouldn't have minded a Dean cover with the Peter Max Talk logo.

I believe Roger Dean was responsible for the turtle's head artwork.

I instead am convinced that the Max-cover as well as your "interesting patterns" are much more the result of artistic expression than the very most of the Dean-covers

Yay. I see someone else finally voted for GFTO like me. Whoo hoo. 😉😆

interesting mix so far in the voting.

I put Time and a Word (UK of course) second choice, then TYA

Never that keen on Tormato - it's just a very dull affair from Hipgnosis. GftO is much, much better and I think suffers in its reception around the prudery issue. My bet is that it would be a lot more popular if it were a naked woman - which is a bit juvenile. Magnification is a fantastic album with decent artwork.

The rest are IMO [as an artist and designer] rather pedestrian and really very dated.
Agree about Talk. Tormatos irony and graphic class though makes it my number two. The word dull I would use for all those Dean-covers of the recent 32years. Yesmusic deserves more artful visualizing than this naive fantasies by numbers.
