I like the song. Not groundbreaking, but it beats current radio by miles. He sounds the same like how he did back in the day. His signature production is still intact. I want to hear more!
This stirs my interest way more than the last album which I didn't like.

pretty cool, I like the production. It has that classic Rabin vibe. The riff is a little repetitive but I'm enjoying the overall quality! Welcome back Trevor, we missed you!

This Trevor Rabin should try out for YES. The vocals just might work.

I wonder if he would consider joining Yes, if Howe was no longer in it. Probably not, but it would be tempting to mould Yes exactly into what he would like! I'm not sure about Downes, but the others would be happy to give the reigns to Rabin.
And a few of us would be interested in how that would work out!

That would be the end of my interest in Yes. Trevor Rabin is an incredibly gifted musician, but has always seemed, stylistically, an odd fit for Yes in my opinion. The hypothetical band you describe above (sans Howe and Downes) may be better launched as Cinema, and as such, could be an interesting project.

In terms of the vocals, I see he has followed Squire, Horn, and many others into the AutoTune era. Which I think makes sense. But I doubt he could pull the notes off in concert.

Hope this doesn’t sound like trolling. I’m a TR fan expressing my opinion. Love the motorized crunchy guitar, the “na na la la” vocals, and other Rabin hallmarks. And the fact that he’s not trying to compete with or sound like Yes.

He has said that no Auto Tune was used.

My hunch is he's probably musically tired of all of them.

Trevor is in no shape for extended touring.
Plus, what would he possibly get out of touring with YES? He makes more doing his own projects, soundtracks and if he wanted to tour with a tech and small crew. Me thinks his touring days are over, unless limited and convenient to him. Isn’t he doing/working on something with Joe B. and others?

The project with Joe has already concluded with the Hollywood Bowl performance last week.

Indeed. I also think it's a misconception that Rabin would want or ever wanted "to completely mold Yes his way". The fact that he was almost the sole leader for Talk wasn't because he wanted to, forced this, but because he was tasked with it by the label, but also by the lack of presence of others in the band. I see Rabin as someone who in a band will certainly have his say and who has strong ideas, but wants it to be a band nevertheless. I think it's partly the reason why we never got the ARW album, because all the heavy lifting was left up to him and he didn't want that.

I’m sure Rabin is very content with his lucrative film scoring career and the opportunity to make the occasional solo album exactly how he wants to make it. Why would he ruin that by joining a band?

I already answered my own question with 'probably not'.
I'm just not ruling out the chance he might want to give it a go...

Good point. Technically true, since he uses Mark of the Unicorn software and not Antares, who make the AutoTune software.

However, Trevor Rabin makes wide use of pitch-correcting softest colloquially referred to as “autotune” and makes no effort to disguise it. Nor should he.
