That's a great snippet - thanks for posting. Base on that I'm hearing here, I'm really looking forward to this. October can't come soon enough.

Sure thing, Pete. TR might actually give us something worth talking about.

In 2017, Rabin said he had finished half of Rio and was writing the second half which seemed to have at least the ideas down.

Here he says: "The combination of it came pretty much way after Covid struck and all these ideas just fell into place - all the fundamental things that I had these ideas for... Thank goodness that the freshness of it is that it all happened quickly at the end of the day. "

Sure, but who knows how much of the parts "finished" in 2017 actually ended up on the album as it's being released?

Well, Rabin said in 2017: "I'm about halfway through a new solo album [...] There's no titles yet but there's about five or six songs I'm really excited about. There's another five that are written that I still have to do". In September 2020 he said Rio was "two-thirds done"

            Just thought it was interesting

Something tells me that last question was put in to put a stop to speculation whether stuff that was originally intended for the ARW album ended up on this album.

              Looking forward to this album!

Rio wouldn't be where those songs would appear, although I did think "Fragile" would be on it because it has vocals and is a great song. The core of an ARW album looked to be "Bolero" and three long songs. Some of that music could still be on his instrumental album.

Great to hear something fresh and new from TR. Listening to this song brings back memories of the 80's eh? The last guitar bit reminded me of Lift Me Up. I always enjoyed Trevor's contributions to Yes. I could never understand the criticism he took after joining the band, he was obviously very talented and very qualified to be in Yes. He's been successful at everything he's ever done, and I wish him continued success on his new album which I will be purchasing.

I finally listened to Big Mistakes single and got some cool Rabin/Lift Me Up/Can't Look Away feels from it. That AOR voice, the squealy guitar, Yes' rock & roll department back in service to the customer. Now I can't wait to get Rio. We haven't had that sorta rock Yes sound for decades now. It is a warm and welcome friend. We don't get that too often. Bring on that album! That and MTTS - a delightful double-whammy of Yes molecules swirling around my ear orifices.

Yes failed to create an album in 1989, so we got Can't Look Away. Good enough!
ARW failed to make an album, so we get Rio. Good enough! Bring it on.
