Steve Lukather is looking a lot like Brian May here.

Any idea of the context here? Are Rabin, Lukathor, and some of the others involved in some sort of joint musical venture/guest appearance or are they just friends grabbing a bite to eat?
"A lot of the heavier conversations I was having with Chris toward the end were about his desire for this thing to go forward. He kept reiterating that to me. [...] He kept telling me, 'No matter what happens, Yes needs to continue moving forward and make great music. So promise me that that's something you want to do.'. And I have to keep making music. It's just what I do. [...] I'm a fan of the band and I want to see it thrive and that means new music." -Billy Sherwood

Now that would be quite a band and they’ve got the right producer too but who would play bass?

              Geddy Lee, of course.

But Geddy isn’t in the picture. I’d choose Trevor for bass and let Joe and Steve do the heavy lifting for all the guitar parts. Luke smokes all of them anyway but Joe plays a good rhythm guitar.

There's only one man who has co-authored a Toto song, co-founded a Toto spin-off band, been on stage with Trevor Rabin in Yes (at the time, as a non-member touring musician), had Trevor Rabin co-write a couple songs for one of his bands, is actually in Yes right now, and is primarily known as a bass player. Billy Sherwood!

Of course, Rabin and Sherwood were on opposite sides of the great Yes/ARW war (The impression was even given that all three members of ARW individually vetoed Sherwood playing bass at the Hall of Fame induction.) and there is apparently some beef between them stemming from the aftermath of Chris Squire's death. So, don't hold your breath.

The world of Yes is a little like professional wrestling, though. Never say never.

Luke smokes! Just don't wake him up with a leaf blower early in the morning 😉

Man, Yes fans do sure like to weave a tale. I hope it’s all in good fun.

I was just commenting on the actual people in the actual photo and musing about what a band consisting of Steve Lukather, Joe Bonamassa, Trevor Rabin and Jason Bonham would sound like with Kevin Shirley producing.

-1- Trevor is one of the collaborators on Joe's upcoming performance at the Hollywood Bowl featuring a full orchestra as I have reported on the blog:
As I reported on back in May of 2021, Trevor was involved in a collaboration with guitar legend Joe Bonamassa which he had hinted at in prev...

-2- I believe Trevor probably met Joe through Kevin Shirley, as they been acquainted for years (they're both from South Africa).

-3- Trevor has been friends with Luke since the '80s, according to Luke his son Trevor is in fact named after TR.

-4- Trevor played/sang on the Bonham album The Disregard of Timekeeping (which Bob Ezrin was producing around the same time as Can't Look Away) so he's known Jason at least since 1989.
                          Rabin-esque

Also, two members of Toto produced an album he was on in the 80s, and he was in Yes where Toto and Yes did a joint tour in 2015.

To be fair, two members of Toto produced most people's albums in the 80s.

Only if Jon stiffed everyone with his share of the bill. ;-)
