I received an email today from a venue in our area announcing upcoming ticket on sale dates and one of the bands is Dire Straights Legacy which interests us. So I looked a bit closer at it and noticed that Trevor Horn is playing bass and singing vocals for DSL, and on top of that Mel Collins from King Crimson (among other things) is playing sax. That's enough for me so we're going! I haven't seen Trevor live since the Drama tour so this will be good fun indeed.

Saw Dire Straits on the Love Over Gold tour, 1982(?) here in Leicester. As far as I can recall it was a good 'un. Cripes! 40 years ago.....
Original drummer Pick Withers was with a progressive band in the 1970s called Spring. Lots of mellotron. They only made one album, at Rockfield I think, but started work on a follow-up. Keyboard player Keith 'Kips' Brown is a mate, Hinckley born and bred.Last edited by Ash Armstrong; 03-09-2022, 04:43 AM.Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Saw DS live back in Tasmania, funnily enough back in my student days. Actually helped work on the stage and lugging boxes, speakers off trucks with an old mate from Canberra. Gavin.
Don't remember the show much. Big production.
Horn is havin'a good time nowadays. More playing. Less production. Wonder how his hearing is?
