Footage of the Buggles From their Tour With Seal

Here is some audience footage of The Buggles' opening set from the first concert of their current tour as the warmup act for Seal.

No Geoff Downes per the video description on YouTube. I'm still listening to the first song, but I can't imagine that someone attended the concert, filmed it, posted it, and said Geoff Downes wasn't there just so we'd be surprised when he pops out during "Elstree".

The final song of the three song recording is billed as "I am a Camera", which was featured on the Buggles' second album, and is technically a reworked cover of Yes' "Into the Lens" from Drama (Though of course Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes, members of both bands, wrote it, so "cover" is in the eyes of the beholder. ).

"A lot of the heavier conversations I was having with Chris toward the end were about his desire for this thing to go forward. He kept reiterating that to me. [...] He kept telling me, 'No matter what happens, Yes needs to continue moving forward and make great music. So promise me that that's something you want to do.'. And I have to keep making music. It's just what I do. [...] I'm a fan of the band and I want to see it thrive and that means new music." -Billy Sherwood

They sound great and tight, in spite of sound quality. Brought back some memories, and made me wish Steve got Trevor to produce new Yes. Maybe the next one.

We're going Tuesday night in New Orleans.
          2nd row pit.
This is going to be a real treat.

Like the B52's they really need the 2 female backin' vocalists. Not the best audio. But good to see the songs given the power of a live performance.

Trevor likes a chat between songs. Just rewatched the Tribute concert when he and Chris shared a few moments together. Before YES played.

Is Horn's new keyboard player one of the band geeks? 😉
