Caped Crusader Collector Club release 5

    Album: Rehearsals and Demos
    Artist: Rick Wakeman
    2022 RRAW
    CD: RWFC005CD

Caped Crusader Collector Club – Exclusively from the Rick Wakeman Archive

    Release No. 5

Digital Audio Archaeology/Mastered by J Hughes

Tracks 1–4 demos from “African Bach” (1991)
Tracks 5–6 demos from “Wakeman With Wakeman” (1992)
Tracks 7–10 demos from “No Expense Spared” (1993)
Track 11 from “Return to the Centre of the Earth” (1999)

    Tracks:
    1. Song Of Liberty

    2. African Bart - Mix 1
    3. African Bart - Mix 2
    4. African Bart - Mix 3
    5. Boogie Woogie Piano - Take One
    6. Boogie Woogie Piano - Take Two
    7. [unlabeled track]

    8. I Can See Through You
    9. Save It For Another Day - I
    10. Save It For Another Day - II
    11. Never Is A Long Time Rehearsal, With Click Track Start

Comments: (***1/2) Like release number 3 of the Caped Crusader Collector Club, this one provides more alternate recordings from Rick’s 1990s output, including another version of “Never is a Long, Long Time” with Trevor Rabin. Most of the tracks were renamed: “Song of Liberty” was called “Liberty” for AFRICAN BACH, the title track of which dismayingly is called “African Bart” for the three mixes included here; “Boogie Woogie Piano” appears to be rehearsal takes for WAKEMAN WITH WAKEMAN’s “Suicide Shuffle”; the unlabeled track is “Number 10” from NO EXPENSE SPARED; “I Can See Through You” became “It’s Your Move” on NO EXPENSE SPARED; and “Save It For Another Day” is “Nothing Ever Changes” from NO EXPENSE SPARED.

    Thanks for the wonderful details!!

I have not seen anything about a “re-up” for the club. Perhaps it was a one off…. I’m very happy with the releases, and swag, in whole, and that I participated.

I received this answer to my renewal query back in February:
“Sorry the decision was made to discontinue the club.”
