I thought "Screw", which he'd worked on for a few years whereas this seems to have been more quickly done, was better musically. It had more bite to it. "Here We Go Again" is OK. Perhaps nothing amazing musically, but Anderson has, for many years now, been doing music in a wide variety of contexts, with different collaborators, for different release modalities. He's not trying to replicate "Close to the Edge" each time: he's putting music out for different reasons, and here speed and a visceral reaction to events was more important.

I think we should judge his attempts to do something "CttE"-like -- e.g. the "Opus" series -- against "CttE". We should judge "Here We Go Again" against something like "Money".

      A SWIFT RESPONSE

From the patriots at The Stephen Colbert Show and young Taylor herself. Perhaps even better than Jon's response.

I believe some of you are jaded. The Village People moves ruined it for everyone else that followed.

Nice. (If you're a Swifty, as I am.)
