Jon Anderson - Shepherd's Bush Empire, Saturday July 22

Sometimes the lights all shining on me, other times I can barely see.
Lately it occurs to me what a long strange trip it’s been.

Interesting. Seems to me Jon and the School of Rock kids are not coming over for a single date.

That's not 100% clear though. It could be Jon + Geeks are the main act, with the kids just doing a support show... although you're probably right. In the US, it was Jon + kids with kids alone as the support act.

Either way, woohoo, some good news!

https://www.loudersound.com/news/jon...-show-for-july has some more, but basically says Anderson's management won't confirm anything yet!

Aha, the event's page on Facebook, set up by venue, says, "YES legend Jon Anderson and Paul Green Rock Academy are bringing us a very special show celebrating the “Close to the Edge” 51st Anniversary."

i'd like that to be clarified, but tbh I saw Jon play at the Chelsea Football Club venue in 2013 (Under The Bridge?) and he did the whole thing solo and was great. It was a mainly standing show too, like shepherds bush. So it isn't really a dealbreaker for me.

and now i've just realised that 2013 is ten years ago. When did that happen?

I was there too. Good show. Yes, it's called Under the Bridge.

Update: It's Jon and the Rock Academy. There's a European tour. Madrid, 19 July. More dates to be announced.

I loved seeing Jon with the kids. The joy on the faces of the kids is priceless. Brought a tear to my eye seeing Jon mentor the kids with the amazing music of Yes. And it's fun because they will change it up with some surprise songs and stuff. Unlike watching the other band play pretty stiff strictly to the rules. Hard to believe Jon is out there is such great form after all he went through and at his age. Pretty awesome...

Tickets went on general sale today (Friday). Annoyingly it's all seated, which is unusual for this venue. Top price is £75. Too much for me, as it's on a Saturday which would mean staying over in London.

I got my ticket for Shepard's Bush, my first Yes related concert.
I'm surprised this tour hasn't generated more interest on here, In the UK ARW's last concert was 2018 and Jon's last was 10+ ? years ago.
I would have preferred a JA-BOG show (hope that makes it over to the UK) but I'll settle for Rock Academy.

Surprising little activity on this thread seeing how this may be Jon’s only concert in the UK and the first in six or severnyears . I have managed to get a half decent ticket. I suspect this may be the last time I ever see him singing live.

                              Who knows ?

                              Anyone else going ?
