Whichever one actually comes out! I think Zamran and 1000 Hands 2 are what I look forward to most.

Was thinking opus, but that makes me think of Open, which I like. Just wouldnt want an Open 2. And I dont think we'll get another TFTO.
So I think I like the sound of Echo, can't wait! As long as it reverbs back to some classic sounding Yes, or Jon, for that matter.
Maybe redo Earth Mother Earth, the song.

        What's Echo?

I voted for "Opus": I think the YouTube versions are really interesting long-form pieces. But I look forward to 1000 Hands Ch. 2 and to Zamran too.

Wasn't there supposed to be a follow up to the Anderson/Stolt album "Invention of Knowledge"?

I really wish Jon would release music the normal way instead of just putting it on YouTube…

I’m all of 51 years olde, and I honestly don’t see any of these ever being finished/released in my lifetime. Jon may surprise me, sure, but like a cat, often talks a good talk and doesn’t follow through. Given his lack of Grammy for 1000 Hands (and his reaction), maybe YouTube and Patreon are the way for him to go, where expectations are lower, and nothing has to be truly finished.

Did Jon say something about not getting a Grammy?

I thought he’d said something off the cuff about not getting a Grammy nomination for 1000 Hands, so he was giving up on new music. Or to that effect.

                      Ah, there it is:
I'm not going to release another album — I had an album called 1000 Hands — Chapter One [...] that I thought was going to be a Grammy Award-winning album — obviously not [...] you start thinking, 'I'm not going to aim for that ever again.'

Instead, I'm just going to release all the music I've made over the last few years in various formats — downloads, singles, videos and so on.

Thanks. Do you have a link for that interview? I do not recall seeing it.

Anderson is patchy when it comes to finishing products, yet he still remains prolific in his own way. He released 1000 Hands: Chapter One in 2019, and Sunlight (OK, that's a complicated story) in 2021. There's been tons of online content. There've been guest appearances on Battles' Juice B Crypts (2019), Trip the Witch (2021) and Jake Shimabukuro's Jake & Friends (2021). He's releasing more than, say, Trevor Rabin, Patrick Moraz, Trevor Horn, Jon Davison or maybe even Steve Howe. OK, so he's not as active as Rick Wakeman, Geoff Downes or Billy Sherwood.

But, the material comes out as a confused mess. There is no strategy. Projects remain unfinished. There's been a lot of work towards an Invention of Knowledge 2, but I doubt it will ever appear. 1000 Hands: Chapter Two and Opus seem surer bets, with his relationship with Michael Franklin appearing strong. Zamran? Who knows?

Yeah, my main reluctance about 1000 Hands 2 (1001 Hands? 2000 Hands?) is that 1000 Hands 1 was fundamentally based on 35 year old tapes, with whatever contemporary embellishments added. I have no idea where/when the bulk of the vocals were recorded, but that might explain, in part, why Jon’s voice sounded so great. At any rate, if 2000 Hands uses the same method — revitalized older recordings — then maybe, but if it’s all new recordings, either of newly-written songs or even older songs, it’s still a lot of work and more importantly money. He really needs a label to invest in him, otherwise we’ll get EarthMothetEarth 2 first…

The plan for Chapter 2 appears to be the same as for Chapter 1, a mix of songs still unused from the old sessions and new songs.
