  • Chris Squire and Toto....?

    Was watching an interesting new interview with David Paich and Steve Porcaro at Sunset Sound. I had known and even seen Steve play with the Chris Squire Experiment and was aware of his contributions to OYE and Union. What I didn't know is Squire apparently was playing, jamming, or recording with Toto around the time or before Rosanna was recorded. His sound and use of the pick and Marshall amp when they worked together apparently influenced the sound you hear in Rosanna. Like to hear more about this period, but I'm sure it's all rated R....

    Wondering if Henry or somebody has any insight into what Chris was working with Toto on?? I assume they were probably all in LA jamming/partying etc... OR?

      They certainly liked the sound he got from his bass going through his Marshall/Marshall’s? and went for that sound on Roseanne. with David Hundgate, who you hear all throughout Grease ( and so many other recordings).
